Last night my cheap generic Chinese battery decided to smoke, get REALLY hot on its own then completely die, so I pulled the chip/button out and cut all the battery wires as I didn't want it to start a fire as I was literally just about to get into bed.
What I would like to ask is... I need to upgrade, get a new battery, possibly a whole new kit.
Now I don't want a huge ridiculous mod thing or to develop "shinyitis" as ive seen mentioned a few times on here lol
what would you recommend for someone who wants just a simple "e-pen"? i.e particular brand or clearomizer type
I'm using throw away clearomizers with a wick at 2.4ohms so I don't get a throat hit I would like to stick with this setup UNLESS..
someone can point me in the right direction and explain to me the advantages of having a huge bananas sized metal pipe that does the same thing my little e-go does?
any info would be greatly appreciated

Try a look at myepack, possibly the emow kit or the evod kit, best with 2 batteries. mindyabiznis

Hi mindyabiznisYou will find everything from small to mega-shiny-expensive on MYEPACK or VAPE ESCAPE or UKECIG CABIN. To me, a simple e-cig would be an £8.99 Kanger evod battery and a £3.49 iClear16 or evod or mini Protank. The advantage to going bigger is longer battery life and more power to make more vapour. That's all. I prefer to make more vapour and use low strength liquid. More taste but not more nicotine.... These are always great value. myepack.co.uk/kits/mini-protank-2-kit.htmlIndividually about £25+ worth of stuff. (I have 3 of these....)

Excellent, are the mini protanks any good? they look nice but then i think they look massive and will look stupid on an e-go battery, or are they not that different to the standard iclear16 in size? Where is a good place to get iclear single coils at 2ohms plus? or should i just get a dual coil clearomizer because i can only seem to find the replacement dual coils. I was looking to get replacement coils etc from vapescape.co.uk but now it seems they don't stock the single coils or even the dual coils

I might suggest an itaste vv starter kit? Love Vaping is closing and has heavily discounted and a further 20% off with discount code. That means you could get the variable voltage battery - its 800mah and 5 iclear 16 toppers (atomisers/tanks) they vape really well and last months, rather than weeks. The atomisers are very similar to what you use but they have replacement coils, I can get between 6 weeks and 4 months from one coil ( they are dual top coils ) if you wash teh coils and dry regularly but even using them as throwaway its remarkably cheap as its £24.99 for whole kit, then theres 20% off and its only £3 postage Replacement coils are quite cheap also, they work out at about £1 each. You don't need to learn to use variable voltage (my daughter doesnt change settings) but the facility is there if you need it. But the biggest plus is they are very attractive and slim and square. Also they are 'pass through' this means you can vape on them whilst plugged into a micro usb to charge (ie at pc or at desk - I vape in bed plugged in!) *edit* 20% discount code is: discount20

Good suggestion from @pep. To answer your question the mini protank and ego battery are the same diameter and go together well. The only downside is limited battery life and juice life in a small tank

The reason I suggest the itaste vv is they are the most faff free, easy to use vaping battery and tank I can think of!
Because the iclear16's are dual coil (two sets of silica string) they are flavoursome and long lasting as you can unscrew the coil and wash the gunk off and then dry fire it dry very simple to do. Replacement coils are very cheap as they are an older model, so to speak, but they are a goodie! I use them as backup even now that I can rebuild and use higher end gear
They are thirsty - in that they use a little more eliquid than other tanks but the trade off is great flavour and lots of vapour. They also have 2ohm coils in starter kit so they should vape similar to what you are using now. Pound for pound they are excellent value and quite hardy a my teenager ruined 8 ego batteries, and twists and spinners .... but the pair of itastes have soldiered on happily for 6-8 months now - and that's a mark of quality! they look a bit battered but they still fire up and batteries are lasting

Awesome i love the look of the Innokins, the square from factor is nice. I'm thinking I should invest in one of them when I can afford it, looks like I'm gonna have to buy a cheap e-go battery from ebay for £5... i don't think £25 is in the budget at the minute as we're moving house at the end of the month I'm REALLY hoping the cheap battery comes soon as I am going cold turkey until it arrives Is the innokin pretty much as far as i can go in terms of quality then whilst stickiing with the e-pen form factor as apposed to the huge ridiculous mods? Also is the mini protank as good as the iclears when it comes to wicking and vapour production as ive tried the bottom coil EVOD's and they all bubble (sounds like a bong) and splash and get liquid in my mouth :S

Also to address the small amount of liquid and battery life, thats not really an issue for me - 1.6ml of one of grizwalds gourmet's lasts me all day at work and then in the evening, and we stick it on to charge at night .... i KNOW your not meant to do that but im using a variable amperage wall charger with auto shutoff when its charged no explosions yet EDIT** again, wheres the best most reliable place to get the dual coils from at 2ohms plus? everywhere sells coils but they're always 1.6-1.8 :S

My son was lucky in that it was in the bedroom and it woke them. If it had been downstairs god knows what could have happened. To add to what others have said, that Innokin VV is excellent value and a really good device, and all for the price of three or four packs of cigs

What about an istick with a mini protank would last you 2 days easily be for it needs charging. Is nice and small as well. Plus they do a pink one Due back in stock on 15 the November myepack.co.uk/eleaf-istick-20w-mod.htmlHas variable power but you can set and forget if that doesn't interest you. Best but is battery life.

I just got a Spinner v2 from Love Vaping in the sale and it's fab. Add to that the mini protank 3 and everything is good here. I have an IQ200 battery I can send you if you like mindyabiznis, it charges on a standard evod charger (I left it's charger in Spain)... It would be good as a back up. Think of it as a pay it forward type of deal, (as well as preventing you from blowing yourself up) so when you can afford to, send it on to someone else who needs it and upgrade. PM me your address. I need to get some of this kit out the door before hubby clocks it... www.vapehq.co.uk/products/vapehq-go-battery
