My kit came today and I am very impressed with the excellent service from VapeEscape - thanks Jason for great customer service and the complimentary juice Well folks my journey has started The SD KeyRing is a fab little gadget, the only tricky part so far was getting the stopper off the mouthpiece end of the carto so I could attach the drip tip As I have been busy today I have so far only tried the B&H carto that came with the keyring, I will be having a taste of the others later on. So far so good, I am sure I will be boring you all with questions as/when I need to so apologies in advance if you have heard them before Which method works best to fill the new cartos, I have seen videos on both the condom and direct dripping? I am really hoping that vaping turns out to be a positive experience as my hubby smokes 20 cigs a day and he is going to see how I get on with it first, I would love it if he quits smoking too

Glad it's so far, so good Fill it whichever way you feel works best for you, I am afraid I am a sloppy filler, I use the condom method and fill the condom a few times, until I see eliquid popping well out of the material inside it, them I just lift it a bit out of the condom and let it stand on it's own for 10 mins and away to go, I then top up the material inside the carto as soon as I se it becoming dry, a few drops at a time, turning the carto as I go, I also find this helps the life of it as well

Thanks Tinkerbella As Sandra says, the best way to fill a cartomiser is whichever way you personally find easiest. The important things are: 1. It's well filled before first use and allowed to soak for a while 2. All excess e-liquid has been removed by blowing through onto a tissue and wiping the threads

Great stuff tinkerbella - now for the old man! The best advice I was given when I started (by Jemima I think) was to make sure your cartomiser is "wetter than a wet thing" Jason's advice, as always, is spot on so far as the practicalities are concerned.

Welcome to the club Tinkerbella! Enjoy your stay and I hope it's a long one

I wonder how Tinkerbella is getting on? And whether her son has taken the plunge yet? Fingers crossed she hasn't hit a problem

Hi folks Sorry for delay but I have had a lot of unexpected stuff to deal with which has meant I haven't managed to quit the ciggies completely BUT I have cut them down to less than half . As far as my vaping goes, I am really getting into the swing of it. Although the keyring is good, I am now considering investing in the Riva, mainly for the battery life. I am trying all the juices and so far my favourite is definately the banoffee cream - yummmm. Does anyone know if you can get it in a higher mg level than 20mg? I am finding that as a heavy smoker the 18mg and 20mg are not quite enough for me. Also can anyone recommend a good cola and vanilla flavour as these are two of my favourite flavours on the planet? I am having to be careful with dosh so I am wary of buying something that does not come close to the flavour I am after. Tonight I will be trying the whiskey cream

Hi Tinkerbella Glad to hear that the vaping is going well. You can have the Banoffee Cream in any strength you like. There's a drop down box on the page to select the strength and if you want it even higher (or inbetween the other strengths), just select 'other' and add a note of your required strength at checkout.

You can pick up a 1100mah ego/riva starter kit which I assume to actually be an ego here for like £29 with free shipping! freedomvape.co.uk/shop/article_10/Ego_Riva-Starter-Kit--XL.html?shop_param=cid%3D2%26aid%3D10%26 Use JAN15 for 15% off I've yet to see anything this good for price to what it does ratio. Suggested retail price, £47, you're paying £29! Say what?! We found that they have 5 click protection on them meaning if you get these batteries and they "don't work" it could be that you have to press the button 5 times reasonably quickly to actually turn them on. You can turn it off or on pressing the button 5 times like that any time. It was kinda confusing troubleshooting for the last guy who got these because I haven't seen the 5 click protection ones in the UK yet but they're here now

Seems like a decent deal..

Yush, the ego is 3.2v standard and regulated meaning it will be 3.2v from the first puff to almost the last. It says ego/riva but we found it had 5 click proctection so it should be an ego. The riva is 4.2 volts to start with and dips down to 3.3v before it cuts off as it's ulregulated but it'll always be higher voltage than the ego. The main benefit of these is that you can use 2.0 ohm cartomisers or lower (if you can find them) with them so for the voltage you can get a lower resistance cartomiser to use and it'll be a hotter vape than the kr808d-1. You can't use low resistance gear on the smaller batteries, well you can, it's just not good for them at all. It's not recommended to use low resistance heating gear on any battery lower than 650mah, but some say no lower than 420mah. You can pick up some decently cheap low resistance 510 atomisers to use with it here: www.vapeescape.co.uk/search.asp?types=Vaping+Spares+%3E+Cartomisers with the code "allabout" for 10% off Well, I don't want to be all like "this is what I've ended up with so this is what you should get" but the lavatube on freedomvape is £10 cheaper anywhere else than I've seen it going for before the 15% off. It's a pretty decent variable volt device if you're looking just to skip to the end of your vaping journey. The ego was pretty much all there was for good ecigs when I started You can get just the body and pick up a charger for cheap on liberty-flights.co.uk then search around for a pair of batteries for it. I got some 510 model to start, then the ego, then the kr808d-1, then a 3.7v box mod, then an ego booster for my ego and now finally I feel like I can stop buying the next best thing now that I have the lavatube. It ranges from 3.0v to 6.0v but really your range peaks around 5.4v-ish (for high to standard resistance) as it dips down in voltage as you get higher up. Around the 4.7v - 5v mark on this device is what I found I need for standard resistance gear. It's not the best, but it's great for what it is. Once you variable voltage you wont go back I dunno, just to say that it's a great device if you're looking just to take the plunge while it's on sale. The ego is also a solid performer if you're looking to notch up the heat with some low resistance gear though.
