We're ok at the moment but I can see the rain falling in the mountains at the back of us, the clouds are so low and black and they're moving down the mountain so it shouldn't be long before we get hit now. Watched the weather forecast on the Canary Isles channel for tomorrow and every single island north, west, east & south is going to be hit with this storm, not one town or village is going to escape it, and guess what, I've got a flippin hospital appointment tomorrow up in the mountains I wonder if I'll make it up there

Take care MP

Here's hoping it all blows itself out & does nothing, toots, but again, stay safe & battened down.

Well, I don't know about the rest of the islands or indeed any other area of Tenerife but we seem to have got off very lightly. Half hour ago we had a sudden downpour but that's been our lot (touch wood) It was beautiful & sunny this morning, blue skies and a few white wisps of cloud then that downpour arrived, and now we are back to blue skies, sunny and a few wisps of white cloud again We did get some rather strong winds yesterday late afternoon/evening but no rain with it. I shall watch the news later to see if anywhere got badly affected on any of the islands. To me it seems like a lot of hype for nothing. Normally the Canarian Government is pretty good and spot on with their weather alerts. We just might have been lucky though

It sounds like you really were lucky & that's brilliant, toots! Better they put out a warning & it comes to not a lot, than say nothing & there's utter devastation. It's the weather & Mother Nature does like to play, look at New York State at the mo.

Glad you escaped the worst of it. We were in a hurricane a few years ago when in Florida so we know what storms can be like.

Well, I'd better eat my words about the Canarian Government issuing their false weather alerts. I watched the Canarian news last night and although Tenerife did not get the brunt of the storm other islands were not so well off. It seems like Gran Canaria, La Palma, Lanzarote & Fuerteventura have been hit badly by the storms, and are continuing to be hit today in the last 2 islands I just mentioned. Apparently the storm seems to have gone around us (somehow ) and all we've had is some rain but nothing too much to write home about. However there is a lot of destruction on the other islands, with floods, roads collapsing etc etc. One of the islands, not sure which one even got snow never been known before apparently A couple of friends of ours have been on a cruise this last week. The cruise ship visits a different Canarian island each day. Gould knows how they've got on, they're due back today so I shall find out later, I bet it was horrendous
