I'm sure it's been asked a zillion times but, is there any food colourings NOT to use? that does/may contain this/that/the other? I know that citric acid can be a tank cracker, but I was more thinking on the lines of colourings with any harmful content to avoid, or are they all basically safe? Now that my second load of concentrates have arrived, I'm going to be busy over the weekend trying new mixes/flavours, but wanted to add some colour to my juice. Thanks

I'd just check the contents of any you buy first kellywelly . . . then use what you know about the ingredients in eliquids to avoid. Green is the only colouring I've used so far, so my experience is limited.

I think the key is if they are water soluble then they are safe (ish).
Oil based is a no no
Alcohol based is debatable.
Do you really need to add colourings?

Hi kellywelly, imho few (if any) food colourings will have been tested as safe for inhalation so why take the risk adding another ingredient that isn't really needed?

I dont really (need) to add colourings, just thought It'd be different I've bought coloured juice red/blue/green from vendors in the past, and wondered if it was something special or just food colouring.

I would imagine it's just colouring. It isn't wrong to want to do something different and if you are happy to do it then just go for it. My personal view is if you don't need it then it's pointless risking it. Just my POV

But, this has now got me thinking, what about coloured concentrates we buy, what is put into the concentrates to give them their colour? I have bought some this week, amongst them, most are clear in colour, but one is pink, and another is yellow.

I'm not saying that all colours will be bad, but it is a case of we don't know and it's adding another (unnecessary?) unknown that might not be good for you.

why would you like to colour your liquid ? EXACTLY... why put in another ingredient that adds NOTHING to the flavour/vapour but COULD add a harmful element? As a side note T-juice will be offering their juices uncoloured VERY soon, so Red Astaire wont be red

They will still be selling it red, but you will have the option of a colourless version
