Last night as I came to the end of a bottle of port I ordered a smart phone from the Amazon Black Friday sale, it's got GPS, Windows 8.1 etc., but this morning in the cold light of day thought did I realy need it? decided no, so cancelled saving myself £50. Dave

Yep! Def a small world! Kate & I were in school together & I married her older brother.

I raided Morrisons for bread on Friday.

I had to take out two elderly ladies and a chavvy kid in a baseball bat to get the last 2 loaves of 'Sandwich White'. 2 for £2.

In fairness, one of the old dears said she didn't like Brown, so I swapped with her. Then the other one said that attacking teenagers with a cheezy twist was kind of unfair, so I gave him the white loaf too.

Then, in a twist of fate, I asked the bakers if I could mix and match some of the half sized loaves to make everyone happy. They said YES!

Everybody won! ... and I upgraded myself to 2 stars (out of 5) for being public spirited. "Fresh choice for djs"

..my white Friday nearly became a brown friday...

still, better than a Multiseed Tiger Friday or Granary Friday. That would have been hard to swallow.

I sort of know her then katiekoo as she took over my ex's Department when he retired . . . though I actually know her Mum Rachel better, who used to do the most superb knitting for me when I had my own shop, a really talented lady!

We may as well derail this thread completely ( ) . . . . have you met her sister, Eleanor?

Rachel is my MiL. Lol!! I met Eleanor yes.... A few times, they all worked at JL over the years. How funny!!

Eleanor was at JL during my time there, which is how I came to know Rachel.

I did something utterly amazing on black friday...

I got a social worker a greggsnut (the pastry one with loads of caramel to squirt down your shirt the minute you bite into it).....with the last of my greggs voucher I got for complaining about greggsnuts (they're more a pastry though they look like a donut)

This was for the trip for a mile up the road to his new office

It was delivered by 9am. I saw no black friday crush in the council offices.....

I wonder why?
