Does anyone have experience of these batteries

My guess - the iJoy cells are not particularly high current rated. I'd not want to suck more than 4-5A out of them without knowing more about them. They will be ICR chemistry which means using them is not a good idea - I'll only use IMR cells in anything capable of more than 15W.

Most torches - even the XM-l and XM-L2s don't draw more than 4A. Those cells should be fine for that. Which lights did you get?

Those will be fine. It'd be a good idea to pull out the dropping from the second one and pack it with foil so it is an extremely tight fit in the head. The P60 dropping format was originally designed to keep the heat in the bulb which is fine but is the opposite of what you want with an LED.

Basically the LED, driver and reflector are mounted together in a removable module in the head. It is a good idea to get as much heat as possible away from the LED and driver. Wrapping the module in thick foil so you have to force it back into the light body is an easy way of improving the heat conduction away from the LED which like all electronic components doesn't like getting too hot.
