You`ve really got to look after the nickel wire, so easy to kink if you aren`t careful, and be so careful when inserting the wick fnnarrr

Programmed to learn. Tightening down the 510 could be pushing the centre pin in, I had it with the Origenny and realised that I had to pack the threads between the deck and body with thick foil to fix. Don't make sense for a kf lite though unless the centre pin has sheered, which it obviously hasn't and pushing up the centre pin would loosen the +ve. What was the wire that gave your the problems? .3 the larger from mesh was giving me the problems....the tempered .25 im getting a better connection for some reason without worrying about the centre pin? maybe my boards have finally learned my average coils are coming...! Just tried it again, .39 - .39 & .40. Just wasn't doing that before. I've not heard any complaints about their wire, just the lack of customer service, so doubt that's the cause. It won't remember coils, just refine it's understanding of the current coil. The main thing is you have them consistent now.

I think the centre pin connection is a red herring @letsavit remember this? Look back to post 235 robby The Kayfun v4 has a spring that carries current and can cause problems, I linked to a vid of it happening a few posts latter. @letsavit feels the spring loaded pin on the mod is preventing a good physical connection, most do not rely on the spring to carry current.

I must try my K4 on my clone (got it yesterday) I have had it in bits and didn`t like the look of that spring. I`ll get it coiled up and give it a whirl

Edit: Was going to say that pre DNA40 we wouldn't have batted an eyelid at the spring, in fact prob would have said how great that it was silver plated.

Back to my lites now....yea robby while running .2 ohms I was lengthening the positive 510 to get a better reading (compressing springs? ) on my DNA40's. For now all seems ok though....

Hi Peeps. Take a look at this mod which converts to give a `springless` centre pin set up.
May solve your prob`s.

I have a KF4 clone running a twisted 32awg ni200 coil and it seems to be running fine @ 0.22ohms.
One thing I did do was to back out the 510 pin then tap it with the handle of a screwdriver so the square nut inside the base raises & contacts the positive pin (tube with the airflow adjuster screw) then screwed the 510 pin back in.
[edit] I also took out 2 of the screws on the build deck so it's easier to wrap the wire around the remaining ones
