Can't believe this, we have another WEATHER RED ALERT as follows:

The Spanish State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has raised the alert level to its highest level–RED ALERT– for extreme risk from strong winds that could reach up to 130 kmph on the islands of La Gomera, Tenerife, El Hierro and summit areas of La Palma and the north of Gran Canaria.

It's gone absolutely crazy here the last hour or so, the wind is sooooo strong we've had to batten down the hatches AGAIN

We're supposed to be on a tropical island with near summer weather all year round - what the heck's going on lately I'd like to know - might as well come back to the UK

Cheers guys, we're ok, we've survived and so has our property

We took a real battering last night, even our steel shutters on the windows and patio doors were rattling and shaking like mad as if the wind was trying to break through them to get at us inside, was real scary


I don't know how the island has fared in all this coz both the Spanish and the Canarian TV is down so I can't check the news and I haven't ventured outside yet either to see what damage has been done.

At least the internet isn't down, but my mobile phone is down, no service at all just like the telly. Oh & electric is still on which is a surprise.

We've got beautiful sunshine this morning    although the weather forecast did say 100% chance of rain today we will see.
