Hi, my name is John and I have decided to try (again) to give up smoking. The only knowledge I have regarding e-cigarettes is what I've read on this forum, mainly the difference between a cartomiser and a clearomiser!
I am 50 years old and have been smoking for over 35 years. I smoke approximately 30 roll ups a day (two large packs per week - 80g) and smoke Holborn with filter tips.
Several months ago, I purchased a SkyCig but I am not happy with it. I don't find it strong enough and the battery life is terrible.
My main problem with quitting is the cravings and the fear. I've tried to give up so many times and failed because I can't get rid of the craving and it's very demoralising. I've tried the patches, chewing gum, lozenges, tablets - you name it, I've tried it.
I started using the patches again this Monday and need some expert advice on what type of e-cig to purchase asap please as I feel that if I can find a good one, it will go a long way to helping me quit for good.
I've decided to go for the clearomiser and would be very grateful if you could advise me on which one to purchase. I can't really afford to spend more than £35 - £40 and if you could provide links as well, I'd be very grateful.
Any help and advice would be very much appreciated.

myepack.co.uk/e-vod-2-starter-kit.htmlThis a decent starter kit at a reasonable price from a trusted vendor. When you buy your juice consider 24mg nicotine content. I too smoked 100gms old holborn or drum a week and I smoked for a about 45years, haven't had a fag since getting my first kit about 21 months ago. to the forum snakeeyes1964Hope this is of some help.

I would recommend this mini protank starter kit myepack.co.uk/kits/mini-protank-2-kit-black.htmlI started on a cheap starter kit which kept breaking down and this mini protank kit was my step up from that. It is reliable and gives a descent vape for a beginner. It is £20 but I would suggest an extra battery and an extra clearo so you can keep going if the battery is on charge or you have a problem. Hope this helps, I am sure you will get plenty of other suggestions from the knowledgeable folk on here

Hi snakeeyes1964 There are many members on here that will point you in the right direction for the best startup kit. Im a bit further down the vaping trail so have lost touch with the more basic stuff. Im 53 and like you smoked rollups for over 30 years. I have now been cig free for nearly 2 years after trying everything else on the market to stop. If i can do it then you will too but cigalikes are just a waste of time for hardened smokers. Get the right kit and you will stop, thats a promise.

Only downside i would say are the 650mah batteries, little on the low side and 1 lasts me about half a day. If i'm out whole day i need to carry both with me and make sure they are fully charged when i leave the house so keep that in mind if you decide to try that kit. I smoked around 30 a day for 17 years myself and i found the 24mg was bit too strong for my liking, so might be good idea to get some 18mg juice aswell to try out.

& Snakeeyes. Might be worthwhile saying your location whereabouts as a member might able to meet up with you and show different mods/clearo's set ups - Try before you buy sort of thing. So glad your trying again so all is not lost.

Hi John and welcome. Just want to second all the good advice above esp. about getting back up battery etc. So easy to reach for a ciggy when you have run out of options. Also to say I smoked rollies 30 plus a day for over 40 years and when I finally got the right kit I gave up with almost no effort at all. Not smoked or wanted a ciggy now for 5 months.
NB Oddly the only thing I miss now and then is rolling a ciggy.
Good luck; the good people on here are always ready to give an encouraging word we have all been there.

I don't know how long you want to wait but if I love the istick as much as I hope I will I may have my evod 2 starter kit for sale, all it won't have is the spare heads. If you don't spend your cash keep a eye out in the classies. X

Hi and welcome to AAEC some great advice given already. I'd reccomend myepack.co.uk/kits/kanger-emow-starter-kit.htmlBigger batery that should last all day good tank as well. Juice wise definitely go for 24 mg and also get a few different flavours. Try not to think I must copy old holburn as your taste will change very quickly. You will probably use 3-6 mil of juice a day to start with. For good cheep juice try here www.onepoundeliquid.com I reccomend the choc o Nana and the black tobacco.

I too smoked rollies for 35 years ...took me about a month to quit with this type of kit that was well over a year ago now.
