Found the spec the resistor needs to be at least 2 V if you put the probes of a meter at each end, V GS the voltage between the Gate and Source pins.

Follow Chegs advice, if he is the same Chegs on breaktru.com he has forgotten more than I know on this.

I am confusing Chegs with CraigHB, I know, I'm dyslexic, but you need to make sore the FET is completely on so you must have enough VGS (>= 2 V if I am reading the spec right) or it will try and amplify it, you probably don't want it too much higher (Edit: less than 10 V, you are not going to get that from the battery so don't worry about that), but I am not sure. If the voltage is wrong check all the connections, then we need to select a different value resistor to cure it.

VapingBad yes thats how I wired it apart from I had 2 wire coming of battery pos+ going to 510+ and switch, so same thing. Multimeter is coming out at 0, but is zero when I put leads together aswell so I think its kaput

If with an atty on it there is no voltage across the resistor then there is a bad connection or dead component. I have to turn in soon and will be away from the PC till Sunday, maybe Ripshod or thatguy could help. Edit: also Resnik has made some these.

Yea in voltage mode it should read 0 when touching the leads and 3.5-4.2 V when ate each end of the battery.

Bin time I looked closer at the pic of the meter and I told you to put it in AC (wavy line) should go left 3 clicks to 20 it late, I've been drinking, short sighted, its been a long year, ....

Hmms I have never had my mosfet's get extremely hot when using. I use almost the exact same setup, but I use a 1/2 watt resistor instead of a 1/4. Was it an instant hot on the mosfet, like as soon as you pushed the button it got hot right away? Did it fire well? Light up the coils? Last 3034 mosfet build. Little bit more complex. It's series, and 26650, but basically the same set up on the mosfet. More like yours. Parallel mosfet.

I checked the voltage across the mosfet while firing like vapingbad said and got 3.5ishV batts were at 4.16 so theres a fair bit of voltage drop somewhere.
