So I am currently around 100 miles from home. Despite this fact I have apparently 20 minutes ago signed for a royal mail package containing my long awaited (3 days) Atlantis with another istick and mini nautilus.

I have rang my neighbour who confirms there is no package and no card etc and she has not signed for anything. Bastards.

It's all over for the long haired, cowboy hat wearing thief of a postman when I see him. He looks like John Wayne and will soon be walking like him. Who the hell wears a cowboy hat when they don't even ride a horse anyway? He is clearly deranged.

There may well be a reasonable explanation for the horrendous crime he has committed but I doubt it.

I'd ring RM imediatly from a fixed location landline to prove your not there.

They should have an image of the signature captured from his PDA. See if you can get them to link it to you (if they do, idk if such a feature is available on the website) or send a pic of it. Then send them back an image of your real signature, offer to replicate it as often as they want, they either have to call you a flat out liar or accept it was a fake and pay compo.

Situation sorted. Got home about an hour ago and my neighbour tells me if was left outside the door somewhere around 4pm.....its all there so I won't worry too much but something strange has gone on!

Just a thought Postie's are subject to delivering parcels and packets by a certain time in some areas. He may have signed for it himself so it looks like he had delivered it on time.

Glad it's all turned up ok, not nice to think our posties 'taking' stuff. Maybe it was delivered to someone else who was expecting a parcel too, they signed without looking, then realised it wasn't theirs and dropped it off at the right place?
Round here the special deliveries are now being delivered separately to the normal post, apparently as its Christmas. Meant a postman with a van drove up here this morning to deliver my two gorgeous GrayCraft drip tips, then regular post came after lunch as usual. And we live in the middle of nowhere

Sounds like you caught em with their pants down there jmw2309. Just shows, don't take mail theft lightly especially now it's all private companies doing it (I'm not biased but... their standards are lower, they treat their employees rougher than the old RM (a mate of mine is in the RM)) Oh more brackets incoming! )))

One of the (many) advantages of having a talkative and kind postie like we have. Tony would never be able to look me in the eye again if he tried something like this; as it happens, he even pops parcels behind our back gate and then pops one of the red cards through our door with "it's behind your gate!" scribbled in marker pen right across the card - he's a star
So glad you have your parcel safely, and I wonder if zeldamum is right in as much as they have to deliver by a certain time, and he may have signed it off himself rather than being caught out being late.
