Yeah they've certainly changed their tune.
They got a lot of stick from loads of people before on a previous article they'd written against e-cigs with many many people telling them they were disgusted at their attitude and would not be supporting them financially anymore with donations. The comments they received underneath that article, I would have thought, would have been enough to make them change their mind, or at least look into e-cigs which they obviously had not done when putting out the previous article.

When I told my Haematologist, Gastroenterologist & Vascular Consultant that I no longer smoked cigarrettes, but vaped, they all congratulated me & encouraged me to continue...My GP seconded it also....That was 2 years ago & was good enough for me.........

Slowly, slowly catchy ..... The fact that articles like this say things such as ... so 2nd hand vapour worries are not such a worry. ... so e-cigarettes are safer. is good news.

And this Cancer Research UK is funding further research into the safety, effectiveness and impact of e-cigarettes from the same article is very good for us Let's think about this. £300-400 million a year, is what Cancer Research get. 100,000 people die every year as a direct result of smoking. Cancer Research want to 'cure' Cancer, but if they invested some money into researching e-cigs that in part helped to reduce the 100,000 figure, that would be money well spent i.m.o. Also, they are well connected and respected.... ASH have softened. CRUK are softening. if we could just get the BMA + NHS to stop living the 'pipe dream' that you either quit or die.... well... The weird thing about the BMA is that they are so driven with tobacco legislation that they haven't seen the whole picture just yet... That; e-cigs should NOT be in a Tobacco Products Directive. The BMA should be working their backsides off to remove e-cigs from the TPD otherwise they could easily destroy the magic bullet. I'm not saying they should condone their use (e-cigs), just take a step back and consider how damaging over-regulation could be.

Glantz isn't an actual researcher, he just takes other studies, ignores most of it And announces his own predetermined (or that of sponcers) proof. Or for a small fee he's happy to insult a Cornish waitress or denounce real scientists As tobacco company shills. I'm sure he would service your private jet, he IS qualified to do that. He's like the A team of public health, providing the cash incentive is right.

reading this, one of the researchers quoted is Prof. Peter Hajec, who has been onside for some time. What I don't understand is why there isn't a larger study of, say, UK forum members on how effective e-cigs are at helping quit fags (which could then help shape advice given to current smokers to help them switch) and maybe then combine this with a significant sample of people who have either dual-fuel or tried vaping and went back to fags to better understand:- 1. how peeps used vaping to stop fully already, 2. real reasons why people dual-fuel and 3. real reasons why peeps switched but then regressed back to tobacco. We know from the studies so far that vaping is way less harmful, surely these would be next logical steps?? edited to make more sense
