Sky broadband issues... Perhaps I can help??? You can help speed mine up! Apparently, I should be getting between 5-11 Mb download speeds... yesterday it wasn't even reaching 2 on the speed test... was on the phone to the tech department on Thursday and he was going to test the line and call me back... still waiting for the call back!

I work for sky (not in any kind of technical capacity) and we have something call sky doctors.
Basically if someone tells me they have a problem I can get a separate team to look into it.
I'm in the office monday and will look into it as I can't remember exactly how it works.
Its helped a friend out before though!
Stand by til monday xD

Well it must be Xmas week... I was listening to RY4 radio just now and went for a leak, wondered when I came back why there was no sound, thought it had gone offline. So had a peek around other sites for music, no deal. WTF? Then the cat reappeared from round the back of the PC. Puss had stepped on the off button of my amp

Often between 12.30-1am to 3-5 am couple times a week random nights net dies all it says is PPP login not authorised.shows speed shows hops to server then nowt. Or similar. Have tested with 2 diff routers old sky black colours one and the new white rubbish one. Checked with it in master socket nowt else on the line same problem. About month ago sky got BT to run a test as we had it happen during the day as well. Within 3 hours of test starting it worked like magic for 3-4 weeks but it's doing it again lol. Definitely nothing on our end but they canny seem to track it down.

if the PPP session is dropping out, nothing you can do at your premesis - it's a network-level problem that your ISP has to sort out on their system Frustrating for the end user, yes, but usually takes a line card at the exchange to be reset or replaced.

I used to have constant problems with Sky including low speeds and mysterious loss of connection when more than Two people were connected, even though I was on "Unlimited Broadband" I got a Deal to switch to BT Infinity and The difference was unbelievable!!! I know fibre optic is obviously going to be better than Bog standard internet but I'm getting speeds of 33-35 now as opposed to 11 with Sky and no interruptions even with Five of us connected plus my openbox!!! I only live half a mile from the exchange as well which helps!!!
