Am determined at some point to have a go at building my own coils. What would you all recommend I get in the way of size, sizes of wire to do this. Don't know if it makes any difference but am not interested in sub ohming just want to be able to build between 1.5 and 2.00 ohm coils that I'll be able to put cotton or whatever through with my sausage fingers. Cheers.

I use .25 kanthal, 6 wraps around a 1.5 mm mandrel micro coiled (flamed and squeezed together so each wrap is touching)gives me around 1.6ohms. Good place to get stuff for coiling is the vape mesh company or stealth vape are good as well. bonnieboy

I use the precoils from ft! So much easier. Good luck to you. You'll pick it up in no time if you get frustrated, shout me and I'll send you a few 1.5

As prr has already recommended where to get supplies from. Ive found that .20 .25 and .27 kanthal cover all the different coils i might want to try. You might want to consider some sort of coiling buddy as it makes it so much easier.

I agree with all that's been said and would add that the pre made coils tend to
be made from a very fine gauge wire and are wound on a 1.5mm mandrel which
is fine for protank type coils but can be a bit limiting for rba and rda builds
I'd advise you have a look on one of the coil wrapping calculators for a wire gauge
that will give you 7/8 wraps round a 2mm mandrel, and input the leg length to
5mm (it does make a difference), you never need as much cotton wick as you first think
Good luck
