Is a 'given' that you have to use the brands stated in a recipe, or would using another brand produce a different finished juice? I am trying to cut the costs of buying flavours, as no vendor has all i need so have to use multiple vendors increasing the postage costs.

It's not a given Phoenix . but the finished juice is likely to be different, not necessarily a bad thing but you won't know until you try. Have you checked chefs, they have a vast selection of concs

I know its frustrating when a recipe calls for '8% TPA Blackcurrant' and you only have Capella/Inawera/DV/CCW... Of course you can substitute but if brand you choose is stronger/weaker/more sour/sweet etc. then the end result will be different. There's a chance that you could prefer what you make but it does help if you know how it compares in strength to the brand you are swapping it out for. And that's something of an issue, you can get a guideline from looking at online spreadsheets as it should help with knowing how strong or weak your brand is to original recipe flavour

Well, it's a common problem...
What I do is to check out the suggestion of the manufacturer and adjust my recipe...
For example, in any recipe is says you add 5% A from FlavourArt, but I have Capella...
I just visit FlavourArt and they suggest that their max of A is 10, I do the same for Capella and they say their max is 20, so in the recipe instead of 5% of A, I add 7.5%... I try it and then according to what I get I play more with A...

In my recipes I quoted what I have used to get the results, other brands may well produce better flavours, I dont know because I use what I've got I can only suggest that you TRY mixing with a different brand, but only a smaller quantity to see how it performs, but also please remember, if you dont like it, it ISN'T fault of the recipe provider so dont give it a bad review, just comment on how it was with YOUR variation

I think it will be a bit different - but as Greg said not necessarily in a bad way - I found that sofar chef's vapor has the biggest choice of different concentrates

Agree with others chefs and justvape are the 2 main suppliers I use as they both have large ranges.
With respect to useing different conc than rec suggests Q has hit it on the head go with what you have. Its worth checking a few reviews out about the conc suggested and compare with one you have. For example I have a manderin conc from flavour vapour its very sweet but weak. Compared with kh calippo orange that is sweet but reallllllly orangy. For the flavour vapour I used 16% kh 8%

If anyone is looking to start their own business in the new year then a good idea would be for someone to contact the different concentrate brands and try and get a wholesale or resale deal or something from each of them. Then set up a website as a vendor who sells concentrates from ALL the popular vendors in one place with a single P&P charge. I'm sure you would get lots of sales
