Have been offline for 3 days, no broadband and no phone line (not that I use that).

It would appear I'm back online (been stable for 3 hours), but still no voice line.

Haven't bothered to complain, owing to the holiday season and obvious limited staff, so thought I'd just wait it out.

Haven't known what to do with my right hand (mouse control, NOT what you're thinking) but made me wonder what we'd all do if 'someone' pulled the plug. Scary prospect.

I feel for you, Raffles & it'd be ok if TV was any good.

Had the council edge cutter go through the phone line (yet again ) a wee while back & yep, it's rotten being cut off from the virtual world. Mind you, my internet is up & down like a lady of the nights drawers, multiple times a day it goes off. A good day is about three times, I won't say what a bad day is, but it makes t'internet unusable.

I'm now 'googling' how to light a fire without matches, just in case. We could be soooo close

I ain't bothered about tv, I don't watch it but the internet is another matter, i am yet to come across a answer/solution that couldn't be found on the internet, even if I just considered vaping....I wouldn't be mixing my own juice or rebuilding so that alone has saved me a fortune!
with every new car/bike that I get Google provides me the key to service/maintain them myself. I striped,fixed and rebuilt my last washing machine all thanks to YouTube etc etc

I understand your frustration.
When I moved into my current home a couple of years ago, I gave my then phone/broadband supplier BT notice to switch to my new address.
It only took them 40 days! to get it sorted!
Fortunately a local pub let me use theirs..

We have a random issue 1-2 nights during week / weekend about 12.30 - 1 am net dies PPP login failed its something on sky's end.
When it goes down I get antsy lol.
Being a night owl and in pain I don't sleep much and net is my salvation at 3am lol.
The amount of random crud out there is astonishing.
I'm doing an open uni course atmo, often at 2-3 am when all is quiet and only noise is gremlin dog and the Mrs snoring like a pack of asthmatic hyenas

I get sooo cross when I can't access the internet, like a druggie without their drugs, I'm just soooo hyper and frustrated, like I have lost the 'gateway' to life.

So silly really to rely on technology to get you through the day without losing your mind, but that's the way life is these days, can't live without it, I can't .

I cant bear to be without the internet, a couple of years back I attempted to wean myself off my reliance of it....but I was just so bored!

We do have cable TV but its not an interactive medium and I don't know how I'd deal without it as don't get out much and meet up with people in real life so the 'net has become a large part of my life and an important communication tool. I'm able to keep in touch and socialise and shop and keep abreast of the worlds news from the comfort of my armchair and I've always said I could accept being an invalid/housebound/paraplegic etc as long as I had the Wold wide web at my fingertips!

I do use the internet as an educating tool as well as a social avenue and it has been a lifeline to me, I cant imagine enjoying my life without the 'web in it?... what a weird thing to have to say .... but its true!
