The annoying thing is I'm looking at Maldives (no problem vaping) but I can only find an indirect flight via Dubai

but if you don't get out of the airport in Dubai - then there is no immigration - so should be fine
did not know that they are illegal in Australia - how stupid

I've never done a 1 stop flight before, surely you come through arrivals to get to departures and would therefore go through security, its all a bit hazy qsplan its unlikely that I'll ever return to Greece, we can only take our holidays in January, its the only time we are quiet enough to leave.

Still searching for my holiday and noticed this pop up on the Virgin Holiday website, anyone have any further info/experience of this? I have travelled through Dubai on two occasions during the last couple of years. I have had no problem at all...my ecigs were picked up on the scanner and inspected...they just asked me if they were ecigs and then gave them back to me...no problem. I will also be flying to Bahrain later this year...then on to Dubai. I'm not concerned about there but I will eventually be ending up in Singapore....that does worry me.

Just a quick correction - You can not buy e-liquid in Australia and I think purchase of hardware is dependant upon state. Most Australian vapers that I know of who are not using black market suppliers import eliquid (which is perfectly legal - I regularly buy for a friend in Melbourne and occasionally mix as well - why - it's complicated). edit.... Tom's confused....
Back on topic... A anecdotal threads regarding Singapore. On the e-cigarette-forum, there's a dedicated Singaporean vapers area that is worth pursuing: www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/sg-vapers/
Personally, I'd pick up a couple of god-awful cig-a-like disposables to carry through security (note you are transferring so not going through customs) and not worry about loosing them. I wouldn't use the devices in the airport unless in a smoking room (they are, apparently, rather good) and you see others doing the same. In hold bags I'd put my lowest value / concern items.
You're going to Bangkok so this might also be of interest (both forum and thread) www.thailandvapers.com/threads/singapore-airport-customs.5127/
