Ego Riva problem bud atomiser v Cartomiser

surely I'm doing something wrong here.. i am almost 5 days into vaping. Steve from ecigs sent me a bud atomiser to try with the Ego riva and with a little help from him i have managed to stay off the fags for 4 days by using the bud successfully.

however i cannot seem to be able to get anywhere near the same draw with the cartomiser which came with the kit. i can taste the vapour, there is no burning smell the cartomiser appears to be adequately filled....but Jeez i am not getting the draw!, no throat hit, very little smoke ..virtually...nothing...i pop the bud back on and bang - were hitting the right spot!....i feel as if my cheeks are going to cave in if i can't manage to use these cartomisers...i think i have watched every video posted on this forum on how to fill and use these but i am still struggling!

What cartomiser is it that you're having problems with Daisy, I've lost track of the kit everyone has bought recently.

I had a carto that had no breather holes in the bottom near the thread, if you look closely just above the thread you should see 2 small holes

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with the cartos, I am sure some experienced vapers will be along to help out. As a newbie, I also had trouble with cartos and tried the Bud which is now my main go to. Many prefer the cartos and once you get to grips with it, I am sure it can work for you. Alot of this takes trial and error.

Have you tried the other atomizer that came in the kit?
It could be a faulty atomizer.

hi daisy, i was having problems yesterday with my new cartomizers, i'm geting on better with them today since I filled them using the condom method!

Lol Storm, last night I popped a new Boge carto on my GG - it was getting hot but no vapour. Had a look at it & the breather holes weren't there. Well they were sort of there, but not punched through.

Is it cartos Daisy is talking about though, or atomisers?

I think it is the atomizers. I sent a Bud to try as well.

I've just fired one up with some RY4 and it does have more flavour in the Buds or Cartomizers. Personally, I've never been a fan of the old cartridge systems.

I also took the cartridge off and stuck a drip tip on instead. Better results then. Three drops of RY4 and it is def better than using a cartridge.

I started with cartridge based systems and progressed up to cartomizers. Couldn't go back now

If you are looking for an alternative to the Buds, you could try the Boge Cartomizers. They are very good.

See how the other atomizer performs. If it is much better than the first, I would say that you have a faulty one. If it is the same, it might be that you won't get the same results as the Bud.

If you have a drip tip, try putting that on instead of the cartridge and dripping three drops of liquid into the atomizer. That will help determine if it is the atomizer.

Let me know how you get on with the other one.

Hi daisy - it sounds like you have an atomiser with a cartridge that sticks into it? If that is the case it would explain the difference with the bud. The bud is a lower resistance than a standard atomiser so will give you a noticeably bigger "kick"

If you haven't already, it would be worth trying the LR Boge or Kanger cartomisers.

yes steve..i have tried another atomiser...i tried filling it with the condom method too ...but no nothing much coming out when i attach it..im going to pop another order in soon for some more of those bud things before it loses its suction...i just really wanted to be able to use up the other carts for emergencies...but i am struggling with it.

Sometimes atomisers can take a while to break in & work to full strength. Have you tried dripping a couple of drops of juice directly into the atomiser? No more than 2 or 3 drops though, or you will flood it.

i have tested both the atomisers...they do appear to be working, and there's plenty of juice in the cartridge as the filler is almost swimming in juice... there's just no smoke or draw, but i can taste the juice dryly (if that makes sense) and i can smell the aroma...just no smoke and nothing hitting the throat!

Noooo......getting a little more smoke (i only put 2 drops on) but no draw.....i shall just stick with what I'm happy with i think...
