Let's just hope we have a vaper that's a partner at one the big law firms who fancies a law changing case. Justifying a tax to change public behaviour on something that is harmless won't be easy against a master at law, they usually start with human rights and then rip the "experts" apart.
Mr brown spent most of his career trying to change a tax that was personally to me so I took notice of his actions, the big players didn't like it too, so even though he picked out very small, even just a husband and wife company once the big players jumped in free of charge to challenge, Browns advisers would change the wording on the law he tried again, he lost everytime in court......
That's why I did ask in another thread who we have that has power, just seem like spokesmen ,women and doctors at the moment.

No irony here then
"Virginia: Bill No. HB 1310 imposes a tax on electronic cigarettes and other vapor products at a rate of 40 cents per millimeter of nicotine liquid solution or other material containing nicotine and authorizes certain cities and certain counties to impose a tax on vapor products."
There is some pretty aggressive taxation here - maybe project "nicotine freeze" is a good idea @letsavit

I have frozen, don't worry about that... taxation will pee me off, a ban to the public concerns me more......it's the only common ingredient that they can target. On what basis though? Tobbacco was health. Just wish a blue chip lawyer would get a bee in his/her bonnet about it.....not sure how it works in the US but taxation law can be challenged in the UK.

Are these US states going to increase or introduce really big taxation on vegetables as well.
These people in power really are very very thick. As if we don't notice what their doing.Their losing out on donations from the Big Pharma and tobacco then just make it up from nicotine. If you also notice the taxation to nicotine is a LOT higher than it is for cigarettes , how is that possible. There has yet to be ANY proof from ALL the anti's that ANY of these products lead people towards smoking, or flavourings attract children or have any bad health effects. I think these governments should be made accountable for what their doing and tell us why they are doing it.Not just say, because our tens of million pound/dollar homes need to be paid for. These people are thieves and liars.Every other company around the world has to be accountable , yet they governments themselves don't.Is this what they call democracy ???

Medical approval means nothing, too many people doing it and growing all the time. If they state nicotine not used as medicine then that can and will be contested. The government has to tax ecigs - sadly, but cannot be seen to attack it too much. First will be control of liquid, some sort of silly arse approved producer/supplier group, they will be happy for a little while and their paymasters will gain a little control. They will do it tiny bit at a time, nothing drastic they want the money which given all reports about increase in ecig use is growing all the time. Nothing else about ecigs can be touched. All this rubbish about limiting atty size yadda yadda is silly. Pharma want to control the nicotine and the big cig companies want the hardware - neither of these want to ban it, too big a cash cow now. They are too late to the party, they may cause a fuss but nothing more.

They are gonna get the tax one way or another Don't count on it just yet......they have failed before. trying to stay postive here....! Someone correct me if I'm wrong but it needs to be classified first, then written into law before taxation.

We will be taxed. Can't tax batteries. Can't touch mod tubes, switches, spring etc. Atties, I doubt. Special ecig mod boxes again I doubt it. Flavours is a no no. PG/VG no chance. Nicotine is the only on left, we will be taxed within 5 years at the outside. I don't think there will be any control about strengths/amounts but they will tax it. Any growing industry is allowed to get so big then they want a piece, at the moment I doubt the government gives a toss, its just a silly fad that will fade away. If big pharma and tobacco stopped bitching the government would do nothing and they could easily take over and there would be nothing we could do, they are too busy fighting each other to be effective. If the big boys got there arses in gear they could control ecigs within 12 months. Nobody cares about big hardware, they want the little cig-alikes and liquids that's where the money is.
