not a happy camper

At my place of work we get surched when we leave and i dont have a prob with that BUT one of the gaurds likes to take his time with me and basically trys to pee me of
today he has gone to far and slamed my bag on top of my phone which i checked at the time and it was ok but when i came to rebuild my mini fogger that was in my bag with a few other spair bits the tank is smashed

so the question is what do i do 
He has admitted to trying to pee me off in frount of other peps but i havent done anything about that but busting my stuff is a step to far
i know what i want to do but i dont think loseing my job and getting nicked for knocking the#### on his ass is the right way to go(but soooooo tempting)

So I'd personally report his behaviour to a member of the Management team . . . it's unacceptable, regardless of whether anything gets broken or not.

That sounds dire, can't imagine having to be searched leaving work, I would go ballistic at that, never mind some stupid guard with a grudge! Sensible suggestion is to take the smashed tank and your grievances to your manager, whoever that may be and hoping it's not the stupid guard, put your case calmly and carefully, and request a different guard to do the searching, or you'll be taking the issue to the union, if you are lucky enough to have one.
Not so sensible suggestion is to take a small bag with those little stink bombs in it.....let him smash that down and suffer the results while you leg it home, only make sure it's a bag with nowt else in it and one you don't want. Alternatively, get a mate to video what he does?
Horrible, stupid person he is, and no, it's not worth losing your job decking him, even if you feel like it, that brings you down to his level and seems to be what he is hoping for.

Report him to your HR dept for antagonistic and threatening behaviour.

Put a claim in for any damaged tanks, full retail price even if they're clones. Include any mods you have at home that don't work. That'll get their attention

I agree with the others. His behaviour is unacceptable in a workplace environment - it doesn't matter if you both really hate each other it is still unacceptable,. I also would suggest that you make the point that his extreme roughness with your kit has meant that some your property has been damaged. I would also start to write everything down. Dates, times and incidents - go back a bit. Be calm and reasoned when you make the complaint.

Yep, put in a complaint to your manager if you get on with him/her or HR and ask for the replacement costs, if you don't he will keep doing it until you lose your cool.

Sounds like he is trying to push you to lose your temper and cost you your job well done on keeping cool it's hard to do when you know it's personal. As everyone else has said report to whoever deals with these things in your company and ask if you can be reimbursed the damage he has done. By the sounds of it everyday he acts like this and you don't react he is getting frustrated so a victory for you over a petty little individual keep racking up those wins .

If others are having issues as well if you all complained as a group it would be even harder for them to ignore.
