Why not have a little fun with the situation? Be really nice to him, smile and attempt to start a conversation, buy him a coffee etc. From what little you've told us about the bloke, he sounds slow enough for that sort of thing to really confuse him.

I'd be tempted to refuse to be searched by him again unless there was a manager present to witness it.

Don't boost your claim, just ask enough to replace your kit and any cleaning you are on the side of right here and getting it sorted is more important than making a few quid, plus if it came to light it would undermine your case.

the manager has emailed the bosses to see what to do and ill find out when i return to work after 9 days holls

tbh if its not sorted ill sort it the old school way(castor sugar in petrol tank for starters followed buy a nice nitro-moors bath for starters)

decoy, enjoy your break away from work, forget about this twit. Hopefully the manager will sort this out. If they don't, then refuse to be searched by this person, please don't resort to 'old school' it's not worth it, you will most likely get found out and you will come off worse, and it just brings you down to his level and you are better than that. Also, any retribution on his property may well impact on other members of his family, and it's not their fault he is a total twit. Just chill, not difficult in this weather, keep those knees warm and enjoy life to the full.
