i also took the cloupor away from our maud, akin to your mrs she is a bit of a tard when it comes to anything electric.

i have however decided that the best long term solution is to educate her in some basic electrical facts.  One day in the future she will no longer be bad at the game, and i'll be able to vape easy without teaching her how to play all the time.

she is also pretty shite at the cooking and the ironing.  I can say this and sleep with both eyes closed as she doesnt frequent this forum.

After u guys feedback to us, all our engineers,suppliers and the whole R&D team got into deep research of the mini issues.
Finally ,we got an answer.There were some IC elements(wrong IC components) mixed into the rights ones.Then It leads to the unexpected problems.
Fortunately,the probability is very low(about two over one thousand).

To turn on the mod(with atomizer attached),then press the fire button for 15 seconds.
It becomes very hot or displaying "too hot" at once,then pls contact me.

Not sure I buy this as half the ones we have details of went when in standby mode and didn't get hot during use.  And if they know a wrong IC got into the production line (these are made by pick and place machines and the ICs come on a real that feeds the machine) then I would expect all the faulty units to go to one or two wholesalers and only a few shops, plus unless it is basicly the same IC but of lower rating I doubt the circuit would work.


Strange the test doesn't specify a wattage to fire at.

tbh im still using mine with oven gloves
have ordered el chepo dna40 clone board to replace the innards(robby has a lot to answer for lol)
on the plus side if it works ill have a temp controlled v small mod for just under £50
i got my mini for just under £20 and i dont think i could get a box,510,magnets and batt sledge for that price

anybody elce tcutted the mini ,it comes up lovely and shiny

I had 5 of these to sell on with 4 absolutely perfect tested each for 3 days as I always do with new mods before selling on to customers aware of the problems. however the 5th one I only installed the battery to test and within seconds I noticed heat on the rear plate, I removed the plate to find the positive end battery connector very hot and melting battery sheath so removed the battery. After a couple of minutes I replaced with a different battery but chip was dead!!! now as much as I loved these I will not buy any for resale until this is sorted which is a real shame. I now have a dud one that is being replaced for me without a problem so if it is possible to to simply put another board in I would be grateful of any instruction of how to do it as I would love this one for myself.

Which board have you gone for decoy as I really like mine but can't really trust the thing even though I've had no problems with it at all.

Kudos to you, living up to your name.  Your description of the problem is interesting as it went straight away.   I would also expect the 5 you were sent came from the same production batch and all be the same, so if Cloupor are correct I would expect them to have the problem.

Thanks @letsavit but I have one that I am using when I'm at the desk and taking the battery out when I'm not and may do that at some point, I had a look at how to put a DNA in and think that if you got some low profile micro switches on some strip board and didn't bother with the USB you could do a nice job.

According to this video the affected ones have a serial number on the card starting with 0002, was yours in this range Saferciggie?

At this stage I'd still take anything Cloupor are saying with a pinch of salt - they don't even seem to understand what is happening themselves.

Every single enquiry that has had a response has had a different excuse.

On the positive, presuming they have the right insurance they should be covered for the costs of a full recall. What happens after that regarding actual refund or replacement only time will tell.

Or they could just shut shop.

They still have nothing on their site or FB about this, just people posting emails they got form Cloupor. The most recent thing on their site about the mini is a FAQ that is laughable

Not like a DNA30, Sony 22R is a new one, maybe Sony bought Samsung and only told Cloupor, the spring loaded 510 is just BS it can be done without putting current through the spring, even a reverse threaded one would be better than the one fitted.

BTW my GearBest one passed the scratch test for authenticity.

This error with the battery shows there is no answer. Any factory having a genuine batch issue would have a prepared statement to include in emails and on social sites. But we're still not seeing this. At the least 'poor communication', in the middle 'they don't have a clue' and at worst 'we know the problem, but we ain't gonna admit to that'.

If I were them and if I knew what the fault was and serial numbers affected I would post on my web site and at the top of FB to stop rumours and misinformation spreading. So I think either they don't know or they are a mushroom company "keep them in the dark and feed them bull s1ht".
