I've had more trouble with cloupor then any other company their quality control is extremely hit and miss and trying to communicate with them is a total exercise in futility. Numerous mods have had power regulation issues and the t8 mod I was examining worried me that much I stopped put it back in the box and returned it, normally I'd apply the "everyone has the odd bad unit" but with cloupor it's been more then the odd unit. I had hoped things would have improved with their newer products but maybe not for any of you with or waiting for any cloupor product please keep a close eye on it and be safe. i had 3 of the cloupar hana clowns, all had miss fire problem sometimes you would be sitting watching tv and then hear it fire up i was lucky the uk vendor replaced them all later on found out his whole batch was the same not all bought at same time these were exchanges

Safety is very important to me as I've helped a lot of people switch to vaping and many ask me for advice on what to buy and where to go next and sadly I will now not recommend cloupor because my experience is once they have your money that ends their dealings with you. I've liked a lot of their stuff on paper but too often the product has either disappointed or caused concern and I will no longer touch any of their products I may change that in future if they change the way they do business.

I prefer usb charging, so I'm on the fence with this one whether to cancel my cloupor mini or put it down to an isolated incident of this particular nature. Having studied more Cloupor reviews in general, I'm swaying towards cancelling and just holding out for an MVP 3.

If you look where the usb board is located it's bang next to the battery connections on the dna board. Just asking for trouble.
Unless my eyes are wrong and that's an extension board for the buttons. Still TOO close in my mind.
Has any of us had the chance to open one up and check for clearance/isolation issues?

So, it's a DNA clone?
Just comparing the pics, and the damage done, looks to me like the capacitor near the usb has failed and shorted.
Could be a BIG issue.
Without a better quality pic of the damage it's so hard to be sure.

Looking at that pic I just posted I think the most likely is a hot glue fail leading to a short maybe on the Philips screw you can see.

Not a DNA clone, none had integral charging.

Just seen it. It wouldn't physically be able to just 'fall out', so must have been blown to bits. To me that moves the cause away from the usb, and less likely to be the charging circuit. Also the scorch mark on the battery suggests the cause is in that area.
If you look at the edge of the pcb the scorching is closer to the Cloupor lable.

Maybe the up switch shorted and caught fire, melted and cause some collateral damage and the metal part fell out while the owner was doing a Fireman Same impression. Or something else started a fire and melted the plastic parts of the switch.

Would certainly fit the pattern. Had plenty of time to melt that plastic, and the solder too. The remnants should have been included in the photo.
An explosion would have done less damage due to it's short duration. I think we can safely call this a fire, or a sustained overheating.
If the charging circuit had indeed gone faulty and drawn more than the usb limit either the motherboard would have cut the 5V or a good old fashioned fusable link would have blown.
We can catagorically state right here, this thing did not happen because it was being charged from a PC. Something else happened here.
