Been using ragtime vapor juices in my aerotank 2 and the heads aren't lasting very long. I know the ragtime juices are roughly 70 to 75% vg. Is the heavier vg likely to wear the heads out quicker?

The only problem I can see is the silica not wicking fast enough, which means faster burning/gunking, yes.
You'd also get some bad tastes too. ???

They are the new type heads with the wicks hidden inside the head. They seem to work fine for a few days then just taste burnt with next to no vapour and high resistance reading. Took the chimney off tonight and it looks really black and burnt inside. Would vaping at 9 watts be too much for the 1.5 ohm dual coil?

Plus if they're sweet/dessert type flavours or anything that's sweetened, then they'll caramelize quicker on your coil and cause a build up of gunk.

The main one I've been vaping is Jim dandy, which is Apple pie And the odd tank of jubilee (melon). Hopefully it's not the wattage being too high as 9 gives me the perfect vape! if I keep going through heads at this rate it's gonna make me learn to recoil!

A bit of both I'd think drunkenbum . . . some of my Dessert vapes, I'm changing the coil every 2 days and I mix VG heavy which has a base sweetness that PG mixes don't, before you add any flavouring. It's certainly a very good reason for learning how to re-coil, even if you use ready made coils, which I do.

I think all the signs are pointing to having to learn Perpetua. Perhaps I'll look into an rba at some point too

Perhaps I'll look into an rba at some point too I'm sure you will DB . . . start off in a modest way with the Aerotank heads, they're good practise and confidence builders.

Does anyone have a link to a good tutorial for recoiling the kanger heads?

Whilst you're learning (and bear in mind it is not easy to recoil the new style wickless Kanger heads - much easier to use some of the old ones and then use a spacer to fit them in your Aerotank) maybe worth trying a Virtual Vape unicoil or one of the duel coil style Naturevape heads.
Not only do they give miles better vape but you can rewick with cotton and dry burn them very easily and treated well they can last for months.

I found this and had a read last night. I've got some of these heads. In fact I've got one in my aerotank now. No need for a spacer. I'm gonna order the bits I need today and have a go

Looking at it, the heads I have are the old style bottome dual coils with the wicks on show. Would the same apply to these with the microcoil and cotton?
Just ordered myself some kanthal and tweezers. Just gotta work out what cotton to buy and get a little blowtorch.
