Hello,
I recently acquired SMOK Xpro M65 box mod however there appears to be an issue with it, I was hoping this is something someone already experienced or knows of.
What happens is that occasionally once you fire up the mod it jumps to 15Watts on its own, then when you try to fire again it drops to 10Watts. It does not heat up the coil when that happens. Battery icon also appears to drain when I try to fire it up.
Also when the above issue happens the LCD starts flashing and the words are half gone. Another thing that LCD screen displays is "Check Atomizer".
I am running the Smok RSTB II atty with 1ohm. the batter is only 3-4 weeks old and I tried two different ones. The battery compartment is properly screwed on. I also tried different atomizer on it but same issue appears.
It is a brand new genuine mod but it is annoying since my mother is using it. Its well annoying as well as she can not use it when this happens.
Anyone has any suggestions on what this is or should I just call up the merchant and make him aware of this issue.
Thank you

What battery is it? How old is the battery? I'm surprised it's doing this. Mine runs 40watts all the time. Is it cold when this happens?
ETA: How does it run in mech mode?

The M50/M65 and maybe others are very sensitive to voltage sag (the amount a batteries voltage drops under load), and will reduce power to protect the battery and the user whenever this voltage sag gets too high. Really strange as the efest is supposed to be a re-wrapped VTC4, which have a low internal resistance.
They really are sensitive though. I've had mine running a couple of weeks now with a VTC5. At first it was doing this regularly, but seems to have stopped now - like maybe the mod has 'learned' the battery.
Maybe just conjecture, or wishful thinking?

Does not seem like a good thing that it happens. I wonder if I call up myepack I would get some sort of replacement or refund and get a different mod. I just feel really bad for my mother that any minute this issue will appear.

Actually, I seem to remember that although they ARE VTC4s, they're the one's that Sony rejected for one reason or another. Do you have any other decent batteries to try? At less that 50watts a 20Amp battery will do the job. Yeah, the more I think about it the more I think it's the battery at fault. Though I'm not 100%. Your call milomonkey

would you recommend a 20Amp battery then like this: myepack.co.uk/batteries/samsung-inr-18650-25r-2500mah-20a.htmlI will call up myepack tomorrow and present the situation and will see how they can help. At the end of the day I just don't want to end up with a faulty product. My mother really likes it when it works so as long as shes happy then I am happy even if it means buying a new mod... although I would prefer not to splash money all the time I am not that rich.

Just gonna tag jmw2309 as a fellow M65 user, see what his experience has been. If you don't have another battery laying around don't buy one just to test a theory, you may well have a bad M65.

Mine does this. I think the problem with mine is that the battery level indicator never goes below 98% so the power drop kicks in when I'm not expecting it. Luckily, I'm nearly always by a USB port, so just whack it on charge and use as a pass through when it happens. Maybe the reset will fix it?
And I have a Samsung 25r in mine ????

I think the cold has something to do with it as well. Outside in these conditions mine will drop to 25watts within the first 5% of battery use. But at room temeperature they should be fine. I reiterate 'SHOULD'. So there could be inconsistencies with the on-board sensor.
Maybe I got the 'Golden Sample'??

Have you tried the "reset" button, accessed through the small hole between the plus and minus buttons?

Yes, could be Ripshod may even need a firmware reset which is what I think the "reset" should do. Just seen posts on the temp control M80 plus, not looking too promising
