Good, bad, indifferent in all walks of life and professions has been my experience . . . . .

I passed my PSV back in 1986 driving the old routmaster buses. I subsequently worked my way through the most of the different models of buses in the 18 or so years I was driving them. There were good drivers and there were bad that I worked along side BUT from the cab of the bus I saw some truly outrageously appalling driving from all ranges of drivers, van drivers, taxi drivers, school run drivers- nigels in their new BMWs, lorry drivers and delivery drivers. And - EVERYBODY Fu*ks up at some point, no-one can really honestly say that they've never unintentionally cut someone else up or failed to spot something

Ok im sorry if my statement ruffeled a few feathers but i did not say all just it seems most were i live ill make my resons for saying this a wee bit clearer setting off before peps are sat down no matter what age total lack of manners or curtasy (talking to kids like they summut they stood in for eg) Trying to kill peps on bikes(push or motor)buy pulling out on them,ok they might not of seen them but the number of times its happened to me it cant be the case all the time as above but with cars and im sorry there is no excuse deliberatly blocking the road when they stop at bus stops(they are told to do this to make getting back out in the trafic easy
now i know everybody makes fubars me included but it seems the bus drivers round here are MOSTLY bullys of the road if you didnt/dont do one of the 5 sins above regularly then you sir/madam should come work in lancs

I always assume a bus is going to pull out unexpectedly. If they don't, they probably get it in the neck for being late at their next stop. They can't win either way. Same with courier vans, they get penalised for late or missed deliveries, so I expect them to do just about anything. Just glad I don't have to do either, and can poodle along at my own pace and the drivers behind mouthing abuse at me, because they're in a hurry.

I am so lucky, we have the best bus drivers around me. Kind, helpful and lovely service as passager and when I'm driving my car I've noticed how respectfully they treat other road users.
About 7 years ago I was chatting to a couple at a bar in Turkey, we found out they lived about 10 miles away from us. They asked us if we used the buses and we said we couldn't believe the fantastic service we have from Trent Barton. They said we are so pleased you said that as one of them was a driver on our route.

I find taxi drivers the worst. They never let anyone through on a single lane road round here and if you dont give way, they never stop

i used to be a white van man and cover in excess of 100k a year when i started i used to be very shouty behind the wheel but after a year i got to the point of drive and let drive peps make mistakes and sometimes have no courtesy this i can understand as we all do at times i tend to drive with the idea that karma is a good thing and let everybody pull out ,much to the annoyance of peps behind me however it is hard to let a bus pull out when you are alongside it doing 25mph and he just pulls out forcing you in to oncoming traffic this caused me to slam on and the car traveling towards me to do the same and all 3 off us were stopped in the road with guess who shouting and gesturing that everybody was in the wrong except him,yep mr i own the rd bus driver the main thing that got my gander up was the road was quiet so if he had waited 1.25 seconds he could of pulled out with out nearly causing a head on crash the problem is they are told to drive aggressively so as they dont get held up and can do there routes on time(i nearly took a job as a bus driver so i know as i was told this in the interview and why i did not take the job) the point is i could understand to a point if i lived in a busy city were traffic was bad and such maneuvers were necessary but in this backwater town the is no need to drive like a bully and put lives at risk and yes i did ring the bus depo and suggest they have a look at the cctv i had installed on there bus a couple of years ago to see how good a job there driver was doing and let them know that if theres want working mine was and the cops now had a copy(the cops were as supprised as me when they watched the vid and have had a word with the young man) sorry for the rant but had nuff of wooden edwardian wankshaft drivers

I now too use a "Dashcam" I was following a big posh Mercedes yesterday in the middle of Bristol, the window went down and they just threw a big McD's cup out right in the middle of the street! I did think about sticking it up on Youtube to shame them but then people like that have no shame.
