Wow..That's something most people wouldn't see in a million years.. Long live the internet!.. Has anyone seen the vid of the baldheaded eagle snatching a salmon out of the lake? Something really worth seeing:

Little birds disturb sitting eagle. Time for exercise and a sing-song with partner who flies onto branch (unseen).
The lovely MrsE sitting on egg #1:

Oh dear, it's been snowing. They're used to it of course. BTW, Iowa time is 6 hours behind us.

I should have trimmed this a bit more but it's done now MrsE sitting patiently with the breeze up her skirt - and a BIG cat passes by the horses:

A weird phenomenon since I've been recording Decorah eagles on pop-out with the browser closed down (well, that's what I figure)... I'm getting their sound on top of owl recordings even though Ustream (eagles) is not open ??? Eg: So I went to the eagles site to see what was going on, and came across this pic of MrsE when it snowed: QUOTE: It was hard not to feel sympathy and concern for Mom last night as she lay in the nest after egg #2, rapidly disappearing under a blanket of snow. Fortunately, she had roughly 7,000 feathers to protect her from the weather.... The snow piling up on Mom's back last night provided a clear picture of the insulative properties of feathers: Mom wasn't losing enough heat to melt the snow away from her back. I wish my roof was so efficient. The nest today (MrsE just gone for a break):

Scylla as my resident bird expert will those eggs be warm enough on their own like that ? I thought birds had to sit on them constantly. :-[
