I'm starting a new thread because our "eagles" thread, which covered eagles, peregrines, ospreys and owls, probably more, got so huge and has fallen into disuse in the off-season.

To christen the thread, here are some clips from the darling Decorah eagles. I thought I had a wonderful clip of the parents quarelling over a big, unmanageable branch that Papa brought in but the recording failed.

What do you use, Foxy? I need a free one, free Fraps only does 30-second clips, had to join them together.

Good vid Scyll - only a tiny bit jerky at the very beginning, otherwise good. Lovely to see them again. Do you know what happened to the offspring? Thanks MMa xxx

I can't even remember if they were banded ??? I know they grew up very healthy.

Both parents have been on the nest today, on and off. It's looking ready for eggs!

There are online webcams streaming the nests of various boids (and other creatures' homes). I have installed capture software and record the screen (in the case of the eagles, sometimes it's the stream itself), then edit out bits of interest, which can take a long time to find

The body of Papa has been found in a field. Mysterious, because he'd only been dead a couple of days at most but had been missing much longer. He appeared uninjured and well-nourished, there's a possibility of a post mortem being done, we'll have to wait and see.

This video is 1hr24m long I left the recorder running for 5-6 hours and went thru and cut out the non-eagle bits. It's quite jerky in places, especially where there's wing-flapping up close.




Oh, and the last half-hour or so turned out to be puppies, cos Ustream changed the video.

You must have the patience of a saint to do that amount of editing just to serve up the juicy bits for us..I will bookmark that vid and watch it when time permits...
