Worked it out that I cannot use Opera for the vids, OK in Firefox MMa, this is especially for you - peregrine falcons had started nesting on a ledge that was vulnerable to racoons, so a box was built for them - here they are mating on high, then a lovely close-up of one in the box (I compiled it from an acquaintance's vids):

Thanks Scyll, I liked that but whoever made it for them didn't make it very comfortable!!! Where's the cushions and carpets so they can cuddle up and get really comfy. You are clever to be able to make the vids though - I LUV 'EM. THANK YOU. MM XXX

whoever made it for them didn't make it very comfortable!!! Remember the Chichester peregrines last year? That was similar, perries are so macho! I haven't seen other falcons like that, but of course am a newbie so there may be loads. Am going to try to monitor this couple because it's such nice picture quality, the Chichester birdies were very blurry Watch this space

Good view of perry vocalising on its 'nest':

I don't know how to tell male from female, haven't investigated yet.

I don't think it's your thingies that are to blame, MMa, I think the YouTube volume setting on the video is almost off. See this in the bottom left: Make sure it's turned up like this: If you click on the mike icon the volume control will shoot out to the side, as per second pic, and you can click with your mouse to adjust. EDIT - The pics aren't displaying for me, reposted them and now the second one is. Hope you can figure out what I mean

Done you a special thread, MMa Here's Mr and Mrs Perry having a little conversation, hope you can hear it And here's some education for us: QUOTES FROM OTHERS: (1) After mating off-cam the male enters the box and beckons the female to enter by bowing. The male is indicating that this is the location to lay the eggs. Peregrines traditionally nest on cliffs and the male prepares a scrape or two. The female makes the final selection. (2) Peregrine falcons do not build a nest. They create a shallow depression in the gravel called a scrape. The female will lay the eggs in this depression. (3) Peregrines make excellent, attentive parents. The babies cannot thermoregulate (control their temperature) until they are about 10 days old, so Mom spends a great deal of time huddling over them while Dad feeds everyone. As the babies age, both parents spend time hunting. The eyrie is small and the babies, which have among the fastest growth rates in the animal kingdom, are large and hungry. They eat, sleep, poop, and go from white fuzzballs to sleek brown juveniles in about five weeks.* *So that's why I lost track of the Chichester brood, one minute they were there (if rather blurred), the next they were gone!
