Have you tried wicking like this? Cutting the wicks in half length ways? You don't have to file the channels with 50/50 juice, I just did mine cos I use 80plus VG allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/51858/filed-subtank-juice-channels?page=1&scrollTo=900710

Using the Sherlock Holmes theory...

If it tasted good with the original coil, which you wicked, and it tastes bad now, you must be doing something different. Obviously you wicked it ok, so that only leaves the wire you are using.

Where did you get the wire/coil?

That's the coil that comes with the sub tank kit.

Tastes closer to the occ with the split wick method
