the website in question offers a risk free trial however you wish to interpret risk it doesn't say the product if free. in fact clearly states you have 15 days to cancel and return the item or you will be charged £59.95 for it. No it does NOT. Did you receive this email? Because I can tell you it takes you to a very different page than the one you see on their website. Im sorry you got caught out or didn't read the info correctly but they are not really doing anything illegal. As I said before, there is far more to the legal side of this than whether or not they have successfully hoodwinked me in to 'signing' for something I didn't want to sign to, such as deception, fraud and general business ethics. So we shall have to agree to differ and let Trading Standards decide.
if your email actually says free trial then you may have a case and expect the item to in fact be free. Indeed it does. I will gladly forward this email to anyone who would be interested in seeing it. Just PM me your email address and I'll send it on.

Thanks Gordy, I've emailed you and here is a quick update for other readers ........

I've kind of had half a result. When I got no response to my email I eventually decided to take a deep breath and call them. After a bit of telephone tennis, I explained to the lady that we could argue all night, but that as she and I, and also the banks, are only too aware of their underhanded 'marketing strategy', it was futile as I wasn't going anywhere and she was being paid not to budge. So was she going to refund me or not?

In the end she said she was prepared to offer me a £30 refund. Like any good 'Deal Or No Deal' player, I took the money . £60 is just too much me to lose right now - £30 is a little easier on the wallet. Even so, it is, and will forever in my mind remain, a complete and utter outrage.

Now. Who wants a Clearsmoke starter kit for thirty quid? Cheap at half the price!

im glad you got some sort of joy from them... they arnt exactly upfront about their charges but there are alot of companies that trade like this... if a deal seems too good to be true, then it usually is

is the clearsmoker any good after all that ??

Actually, in all seriousness, I don't rate it at all. Much happier with my Riva. But if anyone here is in to this type of thing and would like the kit, PM me and I will gladly send it to you free of charge. And I won't even ask you for your bank details . You'll need some cartos for it though.

so sorry to hear you got stung by them mazz they really are very devious and i know of a few folks that have been taken in by the teeth whitening free trials. glad to hear you have got some of your money back though

I fell for the tooth whitening one and posted it up on the MSE forum. Got all my money back eventually and took them to trading standards who eventually made them change their website so it wasn't hidden in small print. I've still got all the standard letters/responses if they'll help anybody. Hate these swindlers whose only intention is to con and mislead - if your product is good, you can sell it legitimately rather than swizzing people into buying it, grrr!

Have you still got this i can give you a few quit for it my neighbour has lost the charger for her cig looking thing, this would replace it for her,i failed to find the right charger for hers
