I just thought I'd share my experience of Clear Smoke. I signed up for the free trial. Read through it all and got the kit 3 days later. I tried all 4 carts that come with it and all of them had leaked in the packaging. Before I smoked it each time, I had to wipe the cart with tissue. The smell was bad too. I tried it around 6 times and phoned them the same day. I told them I didn't want it and asked for the return address. The guy said I could have it for £29.99. I said no.
I then recieved an email that I had to confirm I was going to send it back. I confirmed. I was then met by a message saying something like "Are you sure you want to miss out on this great deal?" or words to that effect, and they were now offering me the kit for £15.95.
I was quite stunned that a kit they had up for £59.99 would now, after a rather horrible experience of it, cost only £15.95. This confirmed my thoughts that they were shoddy and I was glad to spend the few quid to send it back to them. Almost put me off ever trying an e-cig again.

Hi Benny, don't forget to keep an eye on your bank statement just in case they try to take a continuous payment from you!

Karma is right Benny, you must keep an eye out on your bank account as these so called "free trials" are notorious for taking money out of your account at a later date

To be really safe you could cancel the card you paid with and request a new one

I saw this offer as well but the alarm bells rang straight away as I saw it via one of those spammy emails. I did a bit of research and saw an e cig site where that allows reviews from customers and there was a lot of unhappy people on there.
So, unfortunately you aren't the only one!

Thanks for the warnings. I've always been skeptical and now I know to not even give it a thought.

If you find that you've signed up to a Continuous Payment Authority or Direct Debit the company is obliged to provide info & contact details enabling you to cancel the authority/direct debit. Alternatively, simply instruct your card issuer or bank to cancel the payments. The card issuer/bank is misinformed if they say they can't do this & refer you to the trader. Insist on speaking to a supervisor/senior officer who will act on your instruction.

However, it was actually R4's Money Box on 15/12/12. The programme refers you to a link to an external blog which took some finding but this appears to be it; paullewismoney.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/the-continuous-payments-racket.html
