Sorry Hondo..... I haven't tried that one Other's I've tried are Tobacco Soul and Londoner...... the Londoner is a nice dry nutty one....... the Tobacco Soul is a sweet RY4 type. Both also good..... but the ones I listed previously were my faves. Oh....word of warning with the Sampoerna I recommended above. It's a clove tobacco...... similar to the little kretek smokes you get in Singapore...... so if you don't like cloves......

And there are some on here that don't like custard vapes can you believe! ...The world is full of loonies you know and some of them vape! Did you literally pour that 12ml into the 100ml base premix making 112ml in total? If so you would have weakened the concentrate down even further to less than 11%, which wouldn't help with flavour of course. I've emailed them asking what percentage they use for Brownstone and Old Capt premade - I'll let you know if they reply.I've got Old Holborn here still to test - looking forward to that tomorrow before the new batch arrives. Did you get a reply to your email @hondo ?

Cheers for all that great info kreed . I'm not really a big fan of cloves or spices, especially in vapes, hence why I wasn't bowled over by Sultan I think, so I'll give that one a miss. I'm excited now to try the others though @yinyang Sadly he never replied to my email. To be honest I had heard that he was known for poorish communication with customers, but thought it was worth a try anyway. I don't have any PG/VG here at the moment, but as soon as I can grab some I'm going to make up 10ml tests of Old Captain at 10%, 15% and 20% to see if we can pin that one down at least.

@hondo You've given a pretty good description of the flavour profile of Oriental tobacco there! The 'Semi-Oriental' wholeleaf that I steeped could also be described like that so it sounds quite faithful to what it's purporting to be....just a shame it's not to Your taste! An AAEC 'swap shop' for BCL concentrates/liquids hereby proposed! (Actually, postage costs would kill that idea!!)

kreed Ahhh, I never was a fan of facebook style social media sites so I never signed up for that or any of the others. I've also found that you can't even view facebook pages properly (a content blocker pops up) unless you are signed in and that's an instant warning bell for me NOT to sign up. If he is more active there though then that is at least a reassuring sign for customers. yourgurnard Thank you very much for that, perhaps my tastebuds are not too bad then after all I might give Sultan another try after a good steep. I also have Stirling here as the last new one to test. I think that is another Turkish blend but with an RY4 twist, so fingers crossed.

Well, I started on the large 120ml bottle of Old Captain that I got last week and I have to say it tastes significantly weaker than the sample 6ml version I first tried. Either it needs a longer steep time than the 5 days they recomend or the samples sent out are a lot stronger. I've put it in the steep cupboard for a further 4 weeks, so fingers crossed.
In the meantime the NET bug has truly bitten it seems and I've ordered a large sample pack from House of Liquids this time. Expensive stuff, so they will need to be very special for me to consider buying them again, but let's see.

Expensive stuff, so they will need to be very special for me to consider buying them again, but let's see. I have been researching NET and from what I can gather, once you have got your concentrate extracted and then mixed your final product by adding the concentrate (20% - 30% seems common) to nic base/PG/VG, you only need a maximum of 1 week steeping with regular shaking during that time. Perhaps having a bottle of the Old Captain concentrate to add extra flavour might be a good idea. I have ordered 6 x 12ml BCL samples which have just been despatched so I will give my verdict on them in a week or two ... Samples ordered are: Old Captain, Holborg, French Pipe, Kentucky Blend, Tobacco Soul and Sultan ... Can't wait lol.

@hondo Now You've done it!! Cool as BCL are, HoL are in a diff. league! More recognisably NET (tho' other flavs/sweeteners are there..) @yinyang Don't go 30% flavouring using BCL!! The 30% holds true for a flavour made by soaking tobacco in PG, ie. a tincture. I know that others are using more than the 5% I use for BCL but I use 30% when using My home-brew NETs & the BCL mixes are prob. slightly stronger in taste... This is why I'd like specific info. Re. what 'Natural Tobacco' BCL use....They would n't be able to sell their juices/concentrates at such a fantastic price if They were macerating leaf, or buying steeped tobacco concentrates. Don't wanna keep on, & sound pedantic over nomenclature (or methodology..) but Their definition of 'Naturally Extracted' needs explaining...Their stuff's good but it don't taste like My understanding of what a NET tastes like..... Last time I go on 'bout this, promise!!!

Thanks for that info yourgurnard ... It was indeed home extracted leaf that I was researching. Please don't stop posting on this subject as the views of an experienced NET from leaf DIYer such as yourself are always useful, informative and welcomed.

@yinyang Haha, great minds think alike - I actually added 6ml of Old Capt concentrate last night to the ready made 120ml bottle to see if it gives it a flavour boost and makes it more like the sample I tested. I'm looking forward to hearing your opinions of the BCL juices. yourgurnard Please don't stop posting your thoughts on this subject and raising any questions/concerns you may have. I think we all appreciate your insight, especially with your DIY NET experience. I know that AAEC tends to be more "polite" than perhaps other forums, but if we can't express our genuine concerns openly or state our honest opinions without fear of rustling someones jimmies then there is little point in trying to hold a discussion on any subject in my opinion. I'm really enjoying this topic and sharing our experiences as we investigate tobaccos and NET's. Since giving up smoking I never expected to be this interested in tobacco, but the longer I have been a non smoker the more I have become interested it seems. I'm really looking forward to the HOL samples, which should be here today. In a way I almost hope they disappoint me though, as it is going to be hard to justify to myself paying £50+ for 100ml of juice when I can make 100ml of top quality DIY juice for just a pound or two.

I have just received 4 12 ml bottles so shall be mixing some up tonight. Think to be on the safe side will try a couple of sample bottles each at 10 & 15% and see how it goes. As we all know taste is subjective and having tried HOL which to me was awful I hope the holy grail is achieved with these mixes. Will let you know in a week or two.

I look forward to your opinion on the optimum concentrate percentage pacman I have ordered some ready-made juice samples to see what I prefer with the intention of then getting the concentrate and mixing my own.

@hondo ... HOL is just about affordable if you are a low power, higher resistance mtl vaper on 3 or 4 mls a day ... I had to forgo the pleasure of HOL juice when I switched to subohm dtl vaping. £50 every week or so for juice was a no-no!
