Cheers @hondo ... How long did you let your juice steep before sampling and did you let it breath? I reckon mine will be ready to go when it finally arrives. 😁

On the website I think he recommends 2 days steep for the small bottles and 5 days for the big ones. If they have been in the post for a few days I would personally give them a good shake and then take the tops off and let them breathe overnight at least before another good shake and then diving in

My big 120ml bottle of Old Holborn arrived this week and although it needs some more steep time it tastes fine, so I'm pretty sure I had a bad 120ml bottle of Old Captain now and I have flushed it. On kreed's kind recommendation I also bought Ghost and Black Devil this week, but BCL put the same Ghost label on both (argh), which is a problem as I like one of them a lot and want to order more of it. The one I like smells of coco powder to me on the hand with a rub test, and I think I'm getting dark chocolate and fruit (more like a rich fruit cake) in the vape too, plus maybe even a tiny bit of rum again. It's a deep yet surprisingly mellow vape. It needs more steep time but I really like this one even more than Old Captain so far. The other one I'm really struggling to identify any individual flavours at all. It has a creamier smell on the hand and a hint in the taste, and there is fruit again, but there is also a dominant flavour that I just can't put my finger on. I'm not so keen on this one at all and wouldn't buy more of it. That said, I may need to buy both of these again and hope that they are correctly labelled this time so that I can identify which one of them it is that I really like

That's a bummer @hondo since the descriptions on the website of those two liquids are vague to say the least. Perhaps an email to Andy might shed light as regards which is which. Good news is that my 6 sample liquids finally arrived yesterday (9 days after despatch) so I had the caps off for 24 hours and I will let them steep over the weekend before trying them. On the diy NET front I have 3 samples brewing atm ... Red & Gold virginia whole leaf, Holborn Yellow ryo tobacco and Peterson's Founder's Choice pipe tobacco. All 3 have been macerating for 5 days now and the PG is already taking great colour. I intend being super patient and leaving them for at least 4 weeks or more before filtration

Oooo, those NETS look great @yinyang. I have a bigger Kilner jar for my Old Holborn as it was all I had spare, but otherwise the pulp is looking exactly the same I've just started a thread on DIY NET in the Mixology section of the forum and it would be great if you reposted your comments and awesome photos there mate - they are a great starting reference point for anyone else thinking of doing this.

Cheers for all that great info kreed . I'm not really a big fan of cloves or spices, especially in vapes, hence why I wasn't bowled over by Sultan I think, so I'll give that one a miss. I'm excited now to try the others though @yinyang Sadly he never replied to my email. To be honest I had heard that he was known for poorish communication with customers, but thought it was worth a try anyway. I don't have any PG/VG here at the moment, but as soon as I can grab some I'm going to make up 10ml tests of Old Captain at 10%, 15% and 20% to see if we can pin that one down at least.I did the same 8 days ago @hondo and comparing the 3 samples with the Old Captain ready mixed that I received yesterday, the 15% concentrate sample is the closest colour match ... 10% is much paler and 20% is much darker.

Thank you very much for doing that @yinyang and letting us know the results. 15% is what I was half expecting really. I haven't made up any DIY yet as I didn't have any VG and I'm waiting to order some with my last freezer pack of NIC. I'll know how much to use now though, so thanks again. BTW, I think I might have identified the new BCL juice I like now. I was vaping it last night and it slowly dawned on me that the flavour I can detect is possibly not dark chocolate, but instead liquorice, so I now think it's Ghost

Ghost will go onto my ever increasing "to try" list @hondo . BTW, I have been vaping the diy Old Captain all day yesterday ... Got through 10mls at 27.5 watts on a 0.5 ohm, 3mm spaced coil and although I have dry burned and rewicked, I reckon I could have easily got another 4ml tankful through it before really needing to rewick. I have had custards that needed a rewick before that.

Wow, that's impressive results. The most I'm getting is 4ml through a Kayfun Mini v3 before the taste has gone and the coil is black and gunked. That said, I do vape at very low watts (9-10), so that is probably why. I honestly don't mind swapping out every 4ml - I can change wicks on a Kayfun 3 or 5 in my sleep now and it takes just a few minutes. It's worth it for that flavour TBH.

Based on your description @hondo sounds like the one you like is Ghost........ that was always my favourite too...... velvety, almost chocolatey vape.

Cheers kreed. I really owe you for that recommendation as I never would have tried anything with liquorice myself, but I can see this one becoming part of my daily rotation. Lovely stuff.

Sorry to post in an old thread, but I just wanted to add (for anyone that might read this in the future) that for Bestcigliquid concentrates I found 12% to be the best mix (which is convenient as it is the bottle size and might explain why he uses this unusual size in the first place), but in my experience you need to steep it a lot longer than the 7 days suggested on the website for all of the flavours to blend and come through, or you will likely think it's too weak. I have some that's steeped for 3 months and it's pretty much an exact match of the pre-made juice IMO.
From the comments/experience of others and my own, I would suggest a range of 10% to 15% (no more), with 10% slightly weaker, 12% average and 15% strong. This does actually fit in with what the vendor suggests "starting off at 10%".
Enjoy!
