I've been BCL free for a few months now. A combination of DIY extractions and Inawera Aromes and Absolutes. Explored TPA, FA and FLV concentrates, but they don't really compare to Inawera.
Moving away from wanting to vape straight tobaccos. Usually combining them with subtle additions of Coffee, Cream, Fruit to suite the weather...
Just about to put an order in at thebackyshop.co.uk - I notice they still have 12.5g of mixing tobacco listed - is there a TPD loophole for pipe tobaccos?

@hondo Sounds like something's wrong with the 'Sultan' there M8! 3 months sounds a long while to 'lay 'em down' but could be a good move!....I came across approx. 5ml of 'Best Cigar' (now dis-con.?...) that was mixed 15th July last Year....it was too strong for Me & I mixed it 25/75 with Sumatra NET (bear in mind that I only use BCL concentrates at 5% as well!!..) Looks like some DS will be on the next order! domejunky I'd be interested in hearing wot You've extracted, & the Inawera concentrates You've used!...

yourgurnardI think we talked in another thread/another forum? I think you might have been the inspiration for my extraction experiments I've extracted a pouch of Auld Kendell, in PG for 8 weeks. I ended up with 200ml of concentrate, which I use at 15-20% The Inaweras I've tried are: Virginia (both Arome and Absolute) - tastes almost identical to my extract. I use a touch in almost everything I make. Lovely savory base. Cavendish - I have this as an Arome. Has a beautiful almost urine like note to it. Amazing with Inawera Espresso and Inawera Chocolate Garuda - have this as an absolute. Very similar to Virginia with an almost cola note to it - still playing with this. Arabic - Arome. I'm still getting familiar with this. Has a Turkish note, but in a much more pleasant way than TPA/FLV - also has a chocolate orange note - but so subtle that I thought I hadn't washed the bottle properly. Has me thinking of 0.25% Ecto Cooler might be I good combo Latakia - Arome. This is my favourite. Bought it for £1 in a sale. It has a smokeyness and a honeydew melon note. I added a touch of Vanilla Bean Ice Cream and Lemon - not much 6% total flavouring all in. Has become my ADV for hot days. I called it Latakia Lemon Posset. I have to mix a lot of it for other people now, and can't find it anywhere, so have to buy it direct from Poland

yourgurnard For sure the Sultan was off and it's been flushed now. No biggie and these things will happen occasionally. Still loving the Desert Ship and will be ordering more of it this week. As for the 3 month steeping - I swear by it. The improvement is significant to me and the pay off is well worth the patience (even though I failed at the 6 week stage this time). From his new website I see his recommended percentages for his NETs (in most cases) are lower than we suspected earlier in this thread, 5-10% rather than 10-15%, which I found interesting. domejunky Thanks for your comments. I tried Virginia Absolute a long time ago and I recall I was not that impressed, but I vaped it on its own, which I later learned was a mistake. As you seem to be suggesting, blending these with other flavours seems to be key and I may well revisit this one day :-) sydsut Hehe. One of my goto tobaccos for most of last year was Mom & Pops Tobacco Praze and a lot of people complained on other forums that this has a hint of urine odour to it as well (in fact I typed up a long review of it for this forum, which I never posted in the end, but it mentions the "urine" and/or "BO" musky smell). It certainly had an unusual smell (quite musky) but it tasted of leaf/honey/melon/tobacco and to be honest I miss it just typing this. Not one to vape out with friends though that's for sure ;-)

Bad form to post immediately under my own post but hey ho, here we go. Just ordered some more from Bestcigliquid. It appears (for now at least) that NET's in EasyMix form are now limited to 100ml bottles, and no longer 250ml as I previously reported. That's a shame as it makes it more expensive to go the EasyMix route, but it's still only £7.00 per 100ml of NET ejuice, and when I think back to those blinkered uneducated days when I spent £45.00 for 100ml of Manab*sh and other "premium" juices, well, £7.00 still seems pretty darn good value for 100ml of tobacco NET ejuice of this quality. I ordered: 300ml of Desert Ship (I would have ordered more but decided not to with this heat we have this year) 100ml of Kentucky Blend 100ml of Tobacco Blended 100ml of Pure Virginia His new website is great. The last three I've not tried before and looking forward to testing in a few weeks time

domejunky Yes, I remember now! It was indeed on here that You prev. posted about 'Auld Kendal'....I tried to get a 5g. sample from smoke-king but it went o.o.s.....! You've piqued My interest in the Inawera 'Latakia' now as Lat./English Blends are My favs as NETS. I know I've still got Ina. Virginia Absolute here somewhere...it worked well to rich-en up a wholeleaf Red Virg. NET, but now We can't buy the wholeleaf!!! @hondo You're a calmer soul than Me M8....I would've been ex. cross to have to sink something after a 6-week wait!! The 'Kentucky Blend' & 'Pure Virginia' will require Reports!!!

yourgurnard I used to get cross mate, but I treat every new juice/flavour as a win/lose gamble now and pretty much write them off before I've tried them - after the initial week of shake and burp new flavours go to the back of the steep cupboard and are easily forgotten about that way. Had so many flavour disappointments in the past (especially in the early days) I kind of expect it now really. It helps too that I have a lot of juice stored ready to vape that I like. Will happily report on the new BCL flavours - let's see if I can last longer than 6 weeks this time :-)

kreed Hope you don't mind but I thought this might be a better place to continue this subject, and thought some of the guys in this thread might be interested too. So yesterday the postie delivered from e-cig shop... Stixx Mixx A+ Blend N.E.T Concentrate 15ml Stixx Mixx American Virginian N.E.T Concentrate 15ml Stixx Mixx Black Cavendish N.E.T Concentrate 15ml Stixx Mixx Turkish Oriental N.E.T Concentrate 15ml Stixx Mixx Honduran Ligero N.E.T Concentrate 15ml I made up 100ml of each at 7.5% yesterday - I'm kind of hoping I might get 200ml out of them as they are quite expensive as we discussed. Do you think that percentage will be ok - I upped the PG to a 60/40 to help? They are very clean for NET's as you said, which will hopefully help with the coils, but another thing I noticed is that none of them have any smell whatsoever and I wouldn't be able to pick them apart from smell alone - there is just a tiny hint of something, almost a NIC or PG/VG like smell, but that's all, which I thought was odd? Anyways I aired them overnight and they are now steeping. Looking forward to trying them. Thanks again for the heads up mate.

All the recommended percentages are on the descriptions.
Did you miss that bit?

I did see the descriptions, but four of the five just say "use between 6-10%" and only one of them mentions a specific 8%. I thought if you had tried any of them you might have an idea of how weak or strong that % range might be with a PG heavier mix.
To be honest though, I was actually more curious about the total lack of smell of the concentrates, as I have never experienced that before with any concentrate, including other NET's. I did a hand taste test too and nothing much on any of them, so just wondered if you had noticed the same really.
Anyways, apologies for tagging you in and I'll be patient and see what happens in a few weeks. Cheers :-)

Looking forward to Your 1st puffs on these @hondo My home-brew extractions don't give off any smell either...maybe a vague 'alcohol-like' whiff (tho' as I only steep in PG...!?...) altho' the Stixxmixx stuff has to be a lot stronger as I have to use 30% rather than 8%!.. Again, I'd luv to know how the commercial NET suppliers extract/concentrate Their stuff....5% BCL gives Me a stronger-tasting juice than 30% Home-Brew! Hope they work out for You as 8% use makes the concentrates pretty good value. GL!

Cheers yourgurnard . Now I think back almost all of the NETs I've previously tried have come already mixed with other strong flavours, which might explain it. My own Old Holborn homebrew experiment had a very strong (almost unpleasant) odor, so I guess I assumed they all would to some degree. On day 3 of steeping the Black Cavendish has started maturing and I can smell something "familiar" from it now, so fingers crossed. I know what you mean when you say potentially good value, but at 80-90p per 10ml of finished DIY ejuice I do consider this top end "premium", so it still needs to be special to justify that cost IMO. I agree the low percentages of these commercial NET concentrates is baffling. These stixx Mixx juices are so clean too, so whatever filtration process they use it is extremely effective and maybe it is this that concentrates the NET juice even further? Whatever, if that transfers to less coil gunking then it will justify the higher price for sure. I don't expect to like all of these, but if I can find one among them that fits the bill I'll consider it a result. As these are pure NET's with no additions the recommended steep time is quite short at 2 weeks, so I guess we'll know soon enough :-)
