hi sue and welcome. the riva at www.vapeescape.com is recommended by a lot of newbies as their 1st jump into vaping. i started with it 2 weeks ago and have just bought a tank to go with it. i started with just dripping cartos and now taking the next step. dont be afraid to ask any question at any time as there are so many here who will help you spend as much money as you want to spend. im sure this is the easiest way there is to pack in those nasty smelly things we all enjoyed for many a year..... good luck and enjoy

Perpetua, I'll check out vapeescape and freedomvape and get a few juices to try. Thanks for all the great info. Karma, I really thought I'd made a decision but now I think your swaying me back to the Riva which was my first choice. I've checked the links you gave and they were exactly what I was looking at earlier in the week!!! At least I seem to be on the right track I'd thought about the keyring one for a back up or a night out so I think that will definitley be on my purchase list. Yhanks so much, Sue Martin, You are so right about this forum being friendly. Just look how quickly people have replied to my cry for help Thanks so much for the encouragement. To everyone, Thanks so much for the warm welcome. The the information on here is brilliant for us newbies and its really great to know there is help here if I need it.

Hello & welcome Sue I'm sure your head must be spinning even more at the moment There have been a few reports about folks not getting on with the ego tank systems so I do think you would find it best to go with a standard Riva/ego to begin with. The higher the mAh rating of a battery, the longer it will last between recharges. For instance, most ciggie lookalikes have a mAh rating of between 150- 240 mAh & will only last about 32 hours before needing to be recharged. On the other hand, a 1100mAh Riva/ego will last all day

Hi esmecullen I looked at the Riva 510 and was really swayed towards that one but the kits I've found seem to have short life batteries in them, which is why I'm swaying to the Ego-T. I need one that will keep a charge and keep me going for a 12-13 hour day as I'm often out of the house at 6am and not home until 8pm or even later. Oh the confusion is giving me a headache I'll go and have another look at the Riva now. Thanks, Sue No probs Sue If it helps, this is the one I bought www.freedomvape.co.uk/shop/article_10/Ego_Riva-Starter-Kit--XL.html?shop_param=cid%3D2%26aid%3D10%26I get a full day and some to spare with the batteries on this, its a great piece of kit and well worth the price Now all you have to decide is what e-juices to get for it

Hi sue steve (nice chap) will take a call from you (check website) he is full of info re ecigs and has some nice stuff my wife loves the bud cartomizers (easy to fill) he also does a nice DY4 liquid Good on the throat and quite a sweet taste. That said vapescape and freedomvape are also two I use regularly Jason giving good offers on the riva I understand and in my view has the nicer flavours courtesy of his manslave "grizwald" but please steer clear of the cocomel, not that it is'nt tasty but theres not enough to go round according to some of the folks on here. Also Have a look at the sd key ring you might need a couple but they are small and discreet www.vapeescape.co.uk/search.asp?types=Basic+Vaping+Kits+%3E+SD+KeyRing+EcigAll the suppliers here are very good at seeing to our varying needs and I'm sure will only be too pleased to help you

Hi Sue & Welcome
I bought an ego T kit when I started, but moved on to cartomisers mainly due to the cost. Tanks are much easier to manage, but the flavour of ego Ts is lacking in comparison.
If you're determined to go for a tank and don't mind being a bit of a guinea pig, you might look at ego Cs, which are a big improvement over the Ts in flavour, so much so that I have given up cartos for the moment.
Because they are a new product, unlike say the Riva, you may find it harder to find supplies for ego C. I'm not clear when I'll be getting my next batch of atomisers or how much they will end up costing.
But if you want to play safe either Ego or Riva batts with cartomisers are a good bet imo. I would give ego Ts a miss purely due to high cost of ownership and flavour. Maybe think about ego Cs or IMists to go with your batteries when you've found your feet. You can afford to experiment at a later date because it's all so much cheaper than fags.
As long as you have 2 batts (900maH+ preferably), some cartomisers and some nice juice you'll do OK.
Good luck whatever you choose.

Hi Sue and You will get 2 batteries with your kit, charge them both in the evening/overnight and take them both with you when you're out all day, that way if one runs out you'll have the other to carry on with. later you may wish to get another battery or 2 and rotate them. I basically have 4 Riva batteries a couple of which are nearly 2 years old and still working. Also as others have said, get some cartomisers, you can get a tank to go with your existing kit later but the easiest way to start off is cartomisers you can fill more than one and take these with you as well and swap over in a couple of seconds when one runs out. You can refill these in the evening as well. Speak to whoever you decide to buy from and they will give you good advice and support and don't forget to ask us on here. The only silly question is one you don't ask. And PLEASE keep us updated with your progress.

Bel, Thankyou for the welcome. I'm really excited about starting out on this now. I wish I could go to a shop to buy my kit tonight but I'll have to be patient brianfletch, I think I've done what every woman is allowed to do and that is to change her mind Chrissie, I think I'll go for the Riva 1100 as most of you are suggesting. I was looking to get a black one but they don't have black on vapescape so I'll get one from freedomvape as esmecullen suggested. No doubt I'll be driving all of you nuts when I get my kit, asking how to use it Thanks again to everyone for all your help.

colliwobbles, I've read about Grizwalds ejuice and it seems to be highly recommended so thats what I think I'll go for. Mmm, the cocomel sounds great, I may just have to try it out 2risky, It sounds like the ego-t may be too much for me to start off with so based on everyone's advice, you have all helped me make the decision to go for the riva

DiscoDes, I'll do as you suggest and carry the second charged battery with me just in case but by the sound of things the riva 1100 is going to last me all day just as I need. I'll carry an extra cartomiser with me too kirsty0108, I'm sooo excited about starting off on this new experience, unlike when I've tried to stop smoking in the past. How are you doing with your new kit? Are you finding it easy to use and are you still smoking as well as vaping? I can already see the people on here are really friendly by the fast replies I've had. I can imagine there are some humerous posters too and it will be all part of the fun of joining the forum. Chrissie You poor people must answer the same or similar questions from us newbies over and over again. 10 out of 10 and a huge thankyou to all on this forum who give their time to help and advise us

By the looks of things, both vapescape and freedomvape are out of the black riva 1100 Are there any other websites that have these at competitive prices?

Sue, a filled cartomiser lasts about the same as between 5 - 8 cigarettes, I say between because you will find you use a e-cig differently to how you would have smoked. Fill at least 3 or 4 or take your bottle of e-liquid with you, you can sneak off to the loo and refill your cartomiser in a few seconds once you get the hang of it. I'm advising you to do these things at first so you don't find yourself out of either a battery or cartomiser and be tempted to have a regular cig. It's easy to fall off the wagon if you're faced with a few hours left before you can recharge/refill your e-cig. Once you've had some experience you'll know your battery and cartomiser requirements that you need to last a day. Until then its best to err on the side of caution.
