Another possibility might be this one:

It has the advantage that it is a 510 threaded kit, so you could easily add longer lasting batteries later. The buds are quite easy to fill - you push a little filler cap that comes with it on your juice bottle and just squirt the juice into the tank.

The 510 looks good from her point of view. Am I right in thinking if she got two of these, she could charge them, screw in a cartomizer, and get going straight away? It wouldn't need any other attachments or anything? Also, would anyone recommend any specific prefilled cartomizers that work with the 510 which have a good flavour?

I also showed her the Realis video, which she seemed really impressed with, but then you posted about how some people aren't happy with them Chrissie, so I guess that's not an option!

The people who produced the SD keyring also did a version that looks like a ciggy. It takes the same prefilled cartos and is £6.99, so you could get two and have a spare charger.

Absolutely brilliant. Given the recommendations for the SD and the way it looks, that seems exactly right for her. She'll need a USB to mains adapter (I think it's a longshot introducing the concept of USB to her when she doesn't even own a PC), but that's simple to find.

I think you've made up your mind now, but I just wanted to relate my experience with the realis.

I had alot of problems with dodgy batteries and was always charging them up, I don't think it's right for your gran tbh.

I think the important thing with vaping is to get started, then you can work out what's best for you. Most people soon tire of the cig-a-likes and want something more reliable, but it is still a good road to go down if it helps stop the nasties!

I am most likely to late but just wanted to point out what I used to stop smoking, to me this was just like having a real cigarette from the very first puff.....and I did not want to stop smoking at all.

Battery life is not to bad, anything from 2 - 4 hrs depending how often you use it and the regular flavour to me tasted just like tobacco.

It does look like a real cigarette, light at end looks like a lit one, and I found prezzybox great if there was a fault at exchanging no problems ( had some faulty cartridges). It comes with a mains charger - you just plug the usb charger into it. Good quality product - I found - and I am glad I went for it. Just don't buy from Gamucci themselves they are dearer and their shipping costs are unbelievable.

She's now got the SD keyring social smoker ordered and coming in the post soon, so fingers crossed she'll find it really useful. Hopefully once she's started and knows what it's like, she can play around with things until she finds something that works best for her.
