Yes, I can't see how a chip can get worse but I did suck a tank dry? from memory all at 20j I went;

First two, 3 tanks each before I put in the re-coil/wick bin, subtank seemed fine but can run at 20j, sucked a tank dry?, lemo gave the burnt hit but the tank was new to me so I forgave it...Kayfun at 20j is way over so temp needs to be very active.. I gave up then, simply wasn't working as I expect...

You're more settle than me, one tank, one flavour, watts etc so will become apparent quicker.

It is easier to spot with my set up as you say, but the more info about what to expect or not to expect about other set up will help people, especially if it's their first temp limited device.

Either way mate, mine wasn't good enough for the money as a VW only mod so I sent it back, nor is yours......

I posted on UKV and a guy put up a cotton test he was happy with, charring at 300 F and I told him to sent that back.  Sharing what we find helps people with less experience of temp limiting as YiHi seem almost as poor as Evolve, but not quite at providing information.  If it was a £40 mod I would take it on the chin and not use temp limiting, but at these prices it's return to sender, I have put in a refund request with Pink Mule by email and waiting for a reply.

We are starting to get pocket freindly temp mods out of China now for £40.....

Anyway I don't own one now so ill have to go back to slagging the DNA40 of....

I don't know, but the IPV2 had a much cheaper chip that the full blown YiHi SX350 that didn't even have real-time power control and that is a basic building block you need before you can do temp limiting IMO.

decoy IIRC the IPV2 was a 330, never sure about the model numbers they use as the recycle them so guess they would have a 330 in an IPV, but I would just wait and see and not get one of the early ones. They made some announcements over 6 months ago about TC chips that have not arrived yet, on with a big phone type screen IIRC. This vaping lark is becoming even more suck it and see.

im happly suckin away on my tfd (still no soddin ni200 gerrr)and soo glad i didnt get the sx mini after the probs that seem to be poppin up with them
idd honestly off thought someone somewhere in there factory would of tested the finished thing to check they were built right for the cost of them ie qc each unit

Just had a look at my setup and here are the pictures.

Coil and wick after probably 3 1/2 tanks on the Kanger Sub Mini. 9 wraps .25mm Ni200 with 2.5mm id came out at .16ohms



The same coil and wick with a quick rinse under the tap




Wick removed from the coil




After the wick has been thoroughly washed under the tap,fully intact with no signs of burning, just stained by the juice.

Well my liquid never gets that dark now, it used to before temp limiting, but now it is about half way between when it's mixed and the colour it is when used with Kanthal and that is mostly from the solids left behind. Liquid changing colour is a sign of a chemical reaction and I wouldn't be happy with coils like the Neil (Greigster), but we are all different and vape different flavours.

I am using the Subtank NI Occ coils both pre made and recoil my own. Currently a recoiled one in use on my M class at 0.12 ohms and normally running at 26 joules and 410-420 F

Never done the dry cotton test, but I do run it dry on occasion and yet to get a dry hit or burning, is it possible YIhi go about temp regulation in a different way? Anyone stuck it on a scope to see what's happening, as I would think mines no difference to anyone else's and if they are burning cotton as shown they all will be.

im having probs with wicking the occ coils ,i cant get above 22 watts without dry hit on kanth and i dont like the rebuildable head as mine restricts air flow a bit(sounds like a ruddy jet)but ill get there

I know very little about this subject VB and I always get great pleasure from reading the experiences of more knowledgeable people like yourself.
I purchased the SX350J because I changed to lung inhales and the last thing I wanted was to get burning cotton on the inhale. So far the SX350 has performed very well and had done everything that I expected. It out performs my China Flask by a mile, and then some.
It maybe different after a few more tanks, I dont know, but I expect that if there are many people having problems with it, then they will soon release a firmware upgrade.
I am just waiting for the next new thing.........onward and upwards.
