Does anyone know how airlines feel about e-cigs?
Longest journey including from going to boarding gate to when I arrived and got out of airport has been 7hrs and I admit was dying for a cigarette then ( before I found e-cigs). I might, be going for a slightly longer journey
later this year and wondering has anyone found any airlines letting you use them just now. I will be flying to Melbourne in two years and hoping by then things will have improved, as I know Australia is not e-cig friendly, but will cross that bridge when it comes, wondering about now.
Thanks

All I can say is that at the present time, they are not allowed on flights in the U.S.

Quite a few members have vaped at airports without any trouble at all. Some airlines are OK about vaping on the plane, others not. However, you could stealth vape or vape in the loo:)

I know that either Ryanair or Easyjet sell e-cigs on their flights I flew to Paris in October with Ryanair and flew back with Easyjet can't remember which leg it was on !
Sorry this isn't much help but thought people might want to know about it!

Thanks if I can at least vape at the airport I will survive on the flight - I was lucky that if I was somewhere I couldn't smoke it didn't bother me much, it was just as the time neared an end then the craving would start to build up. As you say can always go and have a sneak vape in the bathroom If I use the Vanilla Tabac all that would be left is its smell so people would think how disgusting eating sweets while on the toilet lol

I think i can vaguely remember going on a plane when i was a kid and you could smoke In fact i remember going on a plane a few years later and they still had seats with ashtrays in the armrests but smoking was not allowed then. I seem to remember on the flight as a kid it was just a thick smog and like buses when i was younger you had to sit at the back Because then the smoke did not reach the front Yeah right The first job i had when i left school you could smoke at your desk and every job since has been either smoking rooms (open the door and walk through the smog) or lately outside You can probably guess how old i am from my alias edit that'll be a year not my age lol

Kirsty, those were the good old days, when smokers weren't treated as second class citizens or as drug addicts. We were allowed to smoke on the planes and they didn't get filled up with smoke. Quite the contrary, the planes had good ventilation systems and the smoke was nicely taken care of.

Whuf, I flew when I was in the Army and that was around 1970. I really don't remember seeing any smoke on the plane and I do remember the smoke from my cigarettes being drawn up into the ventilation system.

Jerry i think you may be better informed than me in that case Mine is just a blurry memory I think i can remember when i started smoking when i was about 15 a pack of ten was 50p and 20 were £1 again i could be wrong. Must have been weird in the days where people would just walk into a shop with a fag "on"

Yup and there weren't many complaints about the smoke either. The hysteria didn't start, until they came out with the "second hand smoke" theory, and turned it into fact. It has been drummed into the public's collective head that smokers are a pariah. Before that, not a problem except for the very few who were allergic to smoke.

I only ever toook one flight before smoking was banned on aircraft. I know for a fact that when it was allowed, they used to change the air in the cabin about five times more frequently, with the result that it was fresher then than it is now!
