Problem - my iStick (#1) is definitely on the way out now. I have another and no shortage of spares, but not 20w types. I had a look at FT and decided to go with something available to ship next day. Never bought just one item before, so never checked the conversion. A £31.42 mod came out at £34.50. I think I'll buy UK instead. I never realised this; I guessed a quid or so, but not quite so much. So, seemingly SMOK, Sigelei, Joyetech, Aspire all closer in price these days to UK.... maybe Fasttech have worked out how to eek a few more quid, or maybe PayPal are getting greedy? Dunno. Oh well. A rethink.

I guess it is the exchange rate Paypal are giving you as FT are priced in US$.

Fasttech's own converter is often under what the real exchange rate is, if you check Fastech's dollar price on google currency converter it will give the current pound price, which normally makes the item a fair bit more than what Fasttech says it is in pounds. Evkoo does the same but Gearbest has always been accurate for me It's one of my little niggles with Fasttech and Evkoo because I think it's deliberate on their part to make the item look cheaper than it actually is. Obviously, Paypal add a little on top but people often think the price hike is down to Paypal fees when it's not.

Thank you autumntwist32I appreciate it! The real question is "do I want to save £5.50 on a £40 mod?" I can live with the wait, but not if it needs to go back... ouch... that would hurt.

I always go through this dilemma, and I tend to shop in China unless I could be paying more cash on something that's likely to break.

In the end, my 20w Blue was getting so unpredictable I compared the price UK vs. the 'real' Fasttech price of the 30w. Thought about it for an hour, went for a wander and met a chap outside the newsagents... with a 30w in Blue too. Fate? Job done. I'll save the 50w mod for another day.

Something's a bit dodgy, not that I'm that fussed, no complaints previously. in all fairness, they (FT) do stipulate that non-USD amounts shown are only an approximation as they always charge in USD. The way around the paypal conversion is often to use your card provider's rate - My Co-Op Visa charges pretty much full conversion rate with no fee, for e.g. so if I divide the FT USD price by the current Visa rate, that's accurate and Visa's rate is always better than PayPal's HTH...

FT charge in $, it's paypal that are giving you the poor conversion rate.
