I'm looking for a new soldering iron. It will only be used for mod making on a hobby only basis. So I'm looking for a small easy to use unit that doesn't have to be over powerful and I've found this to be the smallest unit that might fit my needs. what do you guys think of this.

Looks ok to me, you dont need anything too flash as its a waste of money.

Check out Maplin's. They have some very reasonable variable temperature ones.

So that was a full review I'd have liked to have seen him soldering with it before I committed to buy I have a 30w Antex that cost £12 but if I was going for a variable temp iron I'd be looking at the one in igual link, it looks very good and the bits are reasonably priced.

Yeh the one igual posted does look impressive, but for a beginner a nice light cheap unit might be better. I can that one for £18.
