No Greg was quoting Stealthvape and it turned out I miss read/quoted. The 1mm x 0.5mm ribbon has the same cross sectional diameter as 0.25mm round Ni200. This means that you do not need to add extra winds to reach a given resistance. Seven wraps should approximate to a typical 0.25 round wire build with a 3mm inner coil diameter. I can't make any sense of that

It's csa is equivalent to 0.8mm wire (I think) so no use to man nor beast.

I think there's a mistake Greg it must be 0.5mm x 0.1mm that would be 0.05sq and 0.25mm round is 0.49sq

I thought you may like the introduction of nickel ribbon VapingBadI've emailed Stealth vape to confirm the size Answer to my prayers, if I did such a thing, but I think 0.5 mm is going to be too big for all my favourites (dual coil gennies) and will need 0.3 mm, but it's a step in the right direction. I am in ht process of deciding if I want to take the December DNA40 board (screen glitch) out of the last mod I made and get SV to exchange it so a good chance I will be speaking to them soon.

So how would you use this? And is it better than round wire? What are the advantages of using ribbon rather than normal wire? Surface area?

Same as any other wire, more contact area gives more flavour, it's easier to do coils were you wrap rather then coil and then wick like steel and silica. It is possible to coil first and insert a steel wick, but I wouldn't want to try with other wicking material. Before the DNA40 it was my go to wire, but I will need .3 x .1 to get the resistance high enough for dual wicks.

VB likes it on his steel rope in his gennies and it was a favourite of mine twisted with round wire to make a 'tiger coil' As he said more contact area and in the case of tiger coils, and twisted in general I guess, capillary action plays a part. I'll be trying it twisted with 0.25mm up to 0.32mm wire and see how it goes

Too wide for dual coils, for me I would need 10 wraps per wick and there is not that much room.
