After having stuff stolen from the campsite last year this would be an extremely bad policy and will put a blight on my weekend if I have to keep going back an forth to the car park to secure my valuables.  I have been to a lot of camp-sites and the only ones that don't let you take your can is are inaccessible by car, fair enough to have a policy that you can't drive into the camping area after 10 PM that is not unusual.

Just got back from walking and on the Vape Fest site it says nothing about cars

CAMPING
If you are an outdoorsy type, and want to save a few bob, bring a tent. Your stay is FREE (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). Think of the shiny new mod you can get instead of spending money on a hotel room! Arrival is permitted from 4pm-9:30pm on Friday, 9am-9.30pm on Saturday and Sunday. Kicking out time is 12pm on Monday. Plan for electricity NOT being available. Please download and print the Camping Rules.You MUST read these rules prior to camping and should be able to access them whilst on site.

The camping rules say

All vehicles must observe the 5 mph speed limit.
All vehicles driven must stay on the roads until they reach their camping plot.

So I hope it is not an unannounced last minute change and he was just talking about cars coming and going outside the stated hours which is perfectly reasonable for safety and noise.

Just spoke to rick and cars will only be aloud to drop of the gear and then must park in the car park.
This is due to people playing loud music and driving around the site late at night.
Which I think is toattaly understandable:-(

Thanks philmepowers, really really really miffed they had kept this quite and if not for Phoenixflame (Julie) just sprung it on us on the day, it's a bit late to see about hiring a builders tool safe now or something, not that I can afford. I don't remember any one driving late or playing car stereos late except 1 camper van, but I do remember several cases of theft and our cars are the only way we have of securely locking things away. They will be less secure if they are out of sight on the car park, it and could easily just not allow cars in or out after 9:30. If I hadn't made arrangements with people already or the organisers had been open about this on the VapeFest site I would not come, the organisers do a great job, but I am going to spent most of the weekend worrying about theft of gear when I was really looking to spending a relaxing weekend with friends.

They can wheel clamp me for the weekend or take a deposit if they like I need some where to lock cool box, chairs, bbq, shelter, batteries and vape gear they wont all fit in the tent while at the show.

..... That's a real shame, I'm sure I'm not alone in using the car as a useful cupboard as well as a safe for anything of value.
I can't remember anyone driving late or loud music last year

I'm pitching near the car park then! All stock will be put in marquee on Friday for sat and Sunday. I'm not driving back and forth every half hour.
I'm sure it will be ok though I am disappointed not having the car near at hand so to speak

If I recall, the car park is up by the main entrance, which is the opposite end to the camp site..............
