Is anyone versed in the art of repairing the centre 510 pin on an MVP2 ? Due to abuse by me of (gently) pulling up the pin over time, it got to the point where all I got was a 'non' reading when screwing on any of my tanks. I tried to shove a small 'O' ring down the pin, but it didn't fix it, and now I can completely pull the pin right out, so I guess the wire has become detached inside. I have a set of Torx(?) heads, but not one small enough to undo the 4 screws. I did ask in my local Vape shop, but was met with sort of silence... Any tips/advice appreciated. P.S. I have seen a couple of videos of one being repaired, like replacing the 'O' ring, but that didn't work.

Yeah, if the firing pin comes right out then it's not soldered to the wire no more. Torx driver is T6 (I think!...) but the cool little set in Poundland has one that fits (smallest one). You need to remove the switch fascia 1st (gently does it wiv a Stanley blade or similar!) & the silicon button skin. Then undo the 4 torx screws, carefully lift the top plate up, teasing the firing switch out of its cutout. The pcb just has 2 (Phillips!!) screws to undo so You can take the top plate out of the way for re-soldering wire to firing pin. smarties post renders mine a bit redundant!!

If you want I'll put a sprung 510 in it for you. Cost will be cost of the 510 + postage. No charge for doing it bud. If you have a soldering iron and a metal file it is not to hard but you do need to chop a fair bit of crud out the way for the 510 but. Easier if you have a dremel.

Not wanting to hijack the thread but how do you get the MVP apart igual had a bit of a go when I read the o/p as I fancy having a go at swopping one myself but it all seems pretty tight even when you take the screws out so I'm missing something.

Remove top screws carefully pry the bezal off the button being carefully not to loose the button or rubber grommit under Neath. The top will then slide up a bit, push the button in and it will slide out. Masking tape on each wire nothing which is pos and neg then snip off as close to 510 as you can.you will need to unscrew the small circuit board away from topcap as well Take new 510 and you might need to grind it down depending on which type you get as most are to big and cover the screw holes. Grind, file underside of topcap till you can get 510 in nicely solder up epoxy as well if you cannot get 100% flush on back, then re assemble in reverse.
Hope that makes sense.

I did reply just now, but it seems to have disappeared into cyber space.......but it could just be me cocking things up. Many thanks for the replies, tis much appreciated. igual...PM'd you. Oh, I have a set of those Torx heads in a screw driver kit, but they number from size 2 - 40. No. 2 being the smallest, which is just a bit too big, whereas the No. 6 is big. I thought they were in mm sizes, but the No. 40 is certainly not 40mm... I just don't understand all this modern techy stuff.....*sigh*...
