dinks - well done on quitting the stinkies, and even more well done on joining our happy band of mad informative friends. You'll find everything you need here, from advice and guidance through to humour, serious discussion and even our own pub, the Dunwheezin' Arms!! Oh, BTW, I'm another 100 miles SW of you, so can sympathise with @tedster - you're nearly there, my 'ansum

Hi and welcome, I too lie about how much I spend, when I order something and get the email conformation and paypal receipt I have my own folder in our email account and I move it to there pretty quick so my other half doesn't see it!! I don't know if he ever looks at it but he never says anything so I just keep quiet! I had smoked for more than 30yrs and the day I got my starter kit I never had another ciggie and don't ever want to go back to the stinkies. Both my sons smoked and have now given up and vape so we are now a NON SMOKING family. Even my GP has put ex smoker on my records. Happy days!!

Hi dinks to the forum. Hope you manage to keep off the stinkies. The scare about losing your teeth is real. I can vouch for that. No front teeth left, and still waiting for my gums to settle down so I can get implants. Around £8k I wish I had started vaping sooner nasty price! good luck with the implants and thanks so much for the welcome

Hello & welcome dinks from across the Tamar I used to be a very heavy smoker & tried everything to give up, but would just end up crawling up the walls & tearing my hair out. Until I bought my first e-cig, coming up to 7 years ago. I cut down drastically straight away & I thought that was a miracle. Lol, I think I'm also still in shock that I eventually gave up the last 2 a day - still have to pinch myself to believe that I no longer smoke For me, the health benefits have been amazing & the financial benefits, even better wow! well done for sticking with it - I'm not sure that I would have much success with 1st generation e-cigs (which I'm sure was all that was around 7 years ago) - and yes! miracle just about describes how I feel about it too! thanks so much for the welcome

dinks Like you, just over a year ago I was a heavy smoker for over 50 years. I stopped overnight with my first use of an e-cig. Yes, it is miraculous

Another welcome dinks from someone who smoked since being about 12 years old (nicking Mum's fags) for about 55 years before giving up in December 2013. However I faltered last year for a few months with mixing ciggies/roll-ups and e-cig's, but have weaned myself off them for about a week now by spending a lump my Pension on an istick 30W, Nautilus Mini + new BVC coils and about 8 new juices. I also mutter what price I paid, but point out that it was about a weeks worth of fags/baccy, and will last a darn sight longer, which seems to smooth things over a bit.

Hi from another shocked person, just over a year now after 41 years on stinkies, tis a miracle Welcome dinks and 'snap!' I too couldn't believe I could quit and managed to light up through many a serious illness, so its a complete revelation to find that vaping works (if like me you'de tried all other options) Congratulations and I am now a vape bore, I polish and clean my vaping gear far more enthusiastically than my efforts as a housewife... and I also lie about my spending ---- but regardless its a fraction of teh expense of smoking thank you and yes, talk about cost effective...I've even upcycled my ashtray!! You'll need to get a bigger one if you enjoy your stay here you'll be buying so many new 'toys' I'm just finishing it off for you And dont forget to wave as you go by, I'm in the middle of you & chykensa

Welcome! As many others have attested, this is by far the easiest way to get off the stinky alternative. I was a 20+ a day marlboro man for over 40 years plus I smoked a pipe in the evenings. On 2nd April (almost a month ago), I got my first kit. I quit like turning off a light. No cravings, don't miss them and hope I never get tempted with one ever again. I'm trying to get my wife to quit the stinkys and she's getting there slowly... sort of dual fuelling right now but I gave my Aspire VV and mini tank to my son and he's quit too. A great result. There is an addiction you will encounter, it's called shinyitis... my vape costs to date exceed what I would have spent on fags / baccy but according to my sums I'll break even on 11th May (if I can resist spending until then) but I have amassed quite a bit of kit, juice, mixing stuff and rebuild equipment as well as 7 tanks and 4 mods to provide power... the resale value is also a lot more than a few dozen ashtrays full of fag ends Enjoy the journey, ask for help and advice, all freely given by other's who walked the same path.
