Hi I've recently got a nautilus and would like to try it, I have a dead coil looking at it I'd say bdc . I've watched a vid on rebuilding them and it looks very tricky , to me the bvc looks a little easier or am I wrong ?? Does the bdc have the same casing as the bvc ?? I've never tried anything like this but would like to have a go . I have some different kanthal in the cupboard but didn't catch which one I would need as in ( mm ) and what size rod to wind on. Which style would you suggest I try bdc or bvc that's if I can do a bvc in a bdc case , or do you think this will be way out of my league ??? I suppose you don't know if you don't try and I would love to try the tank any help greatly appreciated

Hmm - I do know that they can be rebuilt, but TBH although I can do Kayfuns and drippers, I have never been tempted; they look way too tricky, and for less than £3 for a fresh new head which will last for ages, I'm inherently a lazy old git and always go for the easier option Having said all that, I'm sure someone will be along soon with some suggestions and video links for you!

The easiest way too rebuild them is to drill two of the wicking holes out. You can then insert a horizontal coil rather like a kanger head. @smiffee of this parish taught me how to do this and once they are drilled they are a cinch to do with very good results (coil about 1.4ohms wick with Cotton).
I believe the latest BVC heads already have the holes drilled large enough but not bought any for a while so can't say for sure.
I moved on from nautilus a while ago but I still have some rebuilt heads if you'd like them to experiment with

I used to recoil the BVCs myself, successfully. Essential tool was the blue fasttech screwdriver. But it isn't easy. Actually it was such a fuss I got rid of the Nautilus. I never even tried the BDC but I assume it may be easier.

I think it's the BVCs but without dismantling my (full) Mini Nautilus I couldn't tell you - oh, wait one, I have some in the vape box as spares . . . yes, they are the BVCs!! Got them from Angelfiremods when they were selling them off for £4.99 for 5 - bargain! Here's the linky - www.angelfiremods.co.uk/store/p278/5PK_ASPIRE_NAUTILUS_BVC_COILS.html

There was a rebuilding kit sold by vape n quit, I've never had one as it was always out of stock when I've looked but I've seen one or two being sold second hand and there's a few reviews floating around the web. The kit itself was £10 and just the tool was around £6.99, the website no longer lists them; shame I never got my hands on one. german review

I have recoiled the BDC heads @yavape, they are basically like recoiling Kanger heads. Carefully take out the coils but keep all the stuff that sits on the inside of the head. The other thing you will want to do is VERY CAREFULLY drill out 2 of the tiny airholes on the BDC head (one each side, adjacent to each other) with a 2mm drill bit, to be able to fit the cotton through and to support the coil while you do the rest.

You can find out the VapeNQuit single coil BDC head build HERE if it's any help to you. I should imagine there are plenty of BVC builds on Youtube if you look further.

Actually this video is very helpful thank you it gives me a good guide on how to do it ,I should be able to do that without the kit and I'm thinking with a good micro coil in there I should be able to rewick that for some time Can I ask ( sorry another question ) this bvc has 4 holes they look 2mm do you think That would be to many holes ?? Could I maybe try and block 2 of a bit pack with cotton wool ?? If not I'll try and get hold of a dead bvc as I don't have a drill I would have to see if anyone could drill one for me
