SubTank+ GearBest screwed up deal

I was thinking about all of this.....and our reactions to the situation.

If a UK vendor had made that mistake.......and come on here and said......
"Look...sorry guys.....IT guy screwed up........and that code isn't supposed to still be valid......I'll refund you all"
.....we'd probably have been like......fair enough......no probs.... etc...

I'm willing to bet that some poor IT guy had their last day with gearbest yesterday.

As long as everybody is refunded.......was there really any harm done?

And yes.....I've changed my tune but I have had the benefit of a good nights sleep.........and the refund.

I probably won't be ordering from them anytime soon.........once bitten and all that...........but I bear no ill will.

To save face it might have been an idea to just fulfil everyones order in the first place. It did say on the original post that the code was only to be used for one item only so if they'd just put anyones order who'd went for more than one down to one only it'd have gone a long way to restoring faith in them. If they're going to be giving away 5 anywho it'd have made more financial sense in the long run as they'd have no doubt kept getting repeat business.

They didn't offer me them when they answered my ticket, just apologised and said they had issued a refund.  This is the message I received on my ticket

The 200 points seems a much fairer option to me than the giveaway, at least this way everyone who put an order in and lost out on the deal gets some compensation rather than just 5 random people from the forum benefiting from the error. I personally am happy with the points offer and the refund, it took some time but they are responding well now
