Hi Guys, I'm finally saying hello and introducing myself after a week or so skulking around as a 'guest' reading all I can about e-cigs here. I've been a heavy smoker for 22 years and for past 2 years have been smoking roll-ups as cigs got too expensive...esp at 40 a day at my smoking peak! Anyhoo, I smoked less on the roll ups and 3 weeks ago I stuck a NRT patch on and stopped smoking....I then endured 6 days of utter hell as I battled the demon,I had panic attacks, the lot....by day 7 I was so upset and ready to cave in but my hubby popped out and bought me a disposable e-cig. Wow! I can't begin to tell you how relieved and amazed I was just to get the old hand to mouth routine back along with the vapour etc. Chucked the patches and thought i'd look online to see if I could buy the disposables cheaper, didn't know anything about e-cigs or the forums or anything. So without forum advice but looking to buy, I bought this www.gecigarette.co.uk/products/116-genesis-510-kit.aspx mainly because of the price i must admit and as a set I don't think its too bad but then I found this forum and now i'm thinking maybe vaping could be better? I am constantly having to recharge the battery which is annoying and i didn't get much vapour or satisfaction from the cartridges so, I bought some Kanger Cartos from Liberty flights and much prefer the vapour that i've gotten from them. But i still feel like i don't know if i'm doing it right.... My question is if I try to upgrade to a Riva 1100 for a better battery life and vape do I have to buy the whole starter kit again or can I just buy a Riva battery to use on my 510 atty and cartos? And would my 510 charger thingy work on the Riva battery? I just seem to have so many bits n' bobs and have spent a fair bit already without feeling that I have completely satisfied my craving for an analogue (although i still haven't had one-Yay!). If I do need an entire kit, where would be the best? I also believe I may be intolerant to PG as I got headaches/itchy skin and tummy upset when vaping on it, so changed to VG for last 4 days and this has stopped-so have a couple of juices to give away if anyone wants them? Oh and the other silly question is-why do some sites sell juice at definite amounts of nic ie 18mg & 24mg and some sites sell it at variable amounts ie Med 12-18mg and Low 6-10mg? Any advice would be gratefully received and i apologise for my wittering post and stupid questions

Hello & welcome Freela Yes, you could just buy a Riva battery & use it with your cartos etc, but it really does work out cheaper to buy a full kit. If you go for the one from Vape escape (tad lmited on colour choice at the moment) you can ask for cartomisers to be supplied instead of atomisers - www.vapeescape.co.uk/the-riva-1100-deluxe-kit~151Use discount code allabout for 10% off. Many of the suppliers sell VG juice & those that mix their own, you can ask for VG only.

Hello, and welcome I started with a similar set up but had the same problems as you. this was recommended www.vapeescape.co.uk/the-riva-1100-deluxe-kit~151If you use code 'allabout' you'll get 10% off! I didn't buy that because i felt I had enough so just bought a battery only to find that the small charger i had wasn't powerfull enough to charge the larger battery. So then i bought another charger! Theni ralised that I needed more than 1 big battery, lol! Your 501 cartomizers etc will fit on the above kit! If you buy the above kit you can ask at the checkout for the atomisers to be changed for cartomizers! This would probably all work out cheaper in the long run! Well done on quitting the nasties and sorry, as a newbie myself I don't know why some liquid has a stated strength but others say stuff like 12-18. it's a good question and I'll be interested to read the replies

Hello and Freela Only thing I'll add is that the charger that came with your Cig-a-like will take ages to charge a bigger battery as it will be fairly low power. get the kit, you'll not be sorry as many here will attest to. I know you were on rollies which can be pretty cheap but do the maths, if you were on "normal cigarettes" you'll break even in under 2 weeks. Then if you can resist buying lots of different e-liquids and lots of new shiny toys you can probably easily feed a 20 a day habit on less than £10 a week. The other thing which is priceless however is your health, you were prepared to spend money on quite expensive packages weren't you that only have a very low success rate in the long run. With a decent e-cig the chances of you going back to tobacco is many many times reduced. Good luck!

Maybe you would still prefer to buy one battery and a charger,as you already have the other 510 batteries that you can use between charges and in emergencies... with the 15% discount code I'd buy them from here www.liberty-flights.co.uk/product.asp?id=79Get one of the riva xxl batteries, last a day, and more, easily, and the charger is here www.liberty-flights.co.uk/product.asp?id=99Together works out at £15.28 Delivered... If you then find you want another battery, it works out as £11.04 Delivered so total spend would have been £26.32 Delivered, for a full kit. Leaving some room for cartos etc of your choosing... The kit from vapeescape works out at £33.45 delivered with the discount code... I think that's what I'd do, in your shoes, having already got spare 510 batteries that you may well find do you for in between charges. Especially if money is a little tight, as it is for most of us, this way you can buy slowly too, and won't cost you much more in the long run. EDIT: reworded, as it sounded far too forcefull

Hello, good evening, welcome... Like Bel said, no such thing as silly questions. Only silly answers. And while you'll get more than enough of those up here, there's usually enough far more proper advice and real answers to offset it Speaking as a recent convert (take a look at me banners below), I've not touched tobacco since starting vaping, and if I can do it, anyone can (smoked since I was nine, now thirty five, average before November 15-20/day, now vaping approx 1ml (well, maybe 1.5) per day and not looked back).

Welcome Freela
I PM'd James at Paradise vapes your question re different strengths and he said that your order the strength type you want then put the exact strength in your notes , got too highly reccomend the flavours I ordered too ( Cinnamon apple, Cherry Menthol and Oranges and Lemons)
You can't go wrong with ordering Vapeescapes Riva kit I now have 2 , after spending countless £££££'s on cig alike kits I do not regret either of these purchases

Aw,Thank you for the welcomes Guys, I did think I would probably have to buy another kit, but didn't want to make another mistake and buy without questioning the purchase. It makes sense tho that one Riva battery wouldn't be the answer Karma thanks for sharing that info. The discount code is brill too and now I'm really tempted.....is the Riva a whole lot better than the 510 one i have or will it not make much difference...its a whole new world of stuff I don't quite understand.....ohms and mahs and confusing stuff....oh dear I just know that I've never gone this long without a cig and I really don't want to go back to the horrible things. I'm amazed that vaping even exists and is so enjoyable too .

Hi Freela and a big welcome from me I started out by trying a disposable e-cig and found that I cut right down on real ciggies while it lasted. Then luckily while doing my research, I found this forum before deciding on what to buy. I took the advice from everyone on here and bought the Riva 1100 from Vape Escape and since it arrived last Saturday, I haven't touched a real cigarette since I love my Riva kit, although I have ruined a few cartomisers while getting the hang of it ??? One battery lasts me all day at work and well into the evening. If you do decide to go for one of these kits, give Jason at Vape Escape a ring and ask him if he can get you the colour of kit that you want. He's really helpful and he may even have the one you want lurking in his shop or be able to put one together for you

Hi Freela and welcome I have the Riva from Vapeescape and all i can say is it's a great bit of kit. The only problem now is i keep wanting to try new juices and new bits of kit. It's going to take me a while to break even Still it's better than wasting £6 every day and watching it go up in smoke. Good luck with your vaping journey

I don't think so Alvo @freela, buy a kit you may spend a couple of pounds more but you'll be better off in the long run. If One of your batteries fail you'll still have 2. Just rotate them all and they'll last ages, I have some that are nearly 2 years old now and still working. Also keep with the cartomisers you have been using they are by far the best thing to get started on. I still use them and think they're great. later if it's your thing you can experiment with other vaping devices like tanks and dripping, but don't worry about that now. with regards to milliamps and ohms etc, also don't worry about that at the moment, we'll guide you. You asked if getting a kit would make your carto's better? well the bigger batteries can supply the power for longer at the power that is designed to get the best out of your cartos, just like when you have just charged your battery it tastes good for a short while then drops off. With a bigger battery that good vapor production will last much longer. Hope this helps!
