Up and running with reduced chamber, lowered liquid inlet, removed solder blob on switch (thanks vern), couple of 2 mm 8 wrap twisted (0.17 mm IIRC) kanthal 1.25 ohm, Jap cotton, Pana CGR battery, 1 air hole and OK but still too airy I think I need to reduce the bore of the drip tip until a better atty lands.



Will probably play around with it more later.

I got a normal drip tip to fit in the oversized one using a carto condom with the end cut off and about 3 mm strip cut out and that feels better, as this mod has such puny wiring I don't want to push it below an ohm without changing the wiring so big airflow is out for the moment.

No, just Pozidrive #1 where you would expect #0 or even #00 in such a small screw.

you can go to 0.4-0.5ohm easily on stock wiring with zero ill affects...I even had a comment from a chap who was on 0.2ohm but I didnt feel comfortable advising that. The top plate gets quite hot from the atty radiating heat into it.
i would also say, considering todays reo @ 29dolla, *if* you already had an atty to bottom feed, or could convert one, than the reo clone (assuming it is a good copy) would be better for most people. I have loads of attys, so the $8 difference is worth the upgrade ot metal proven design etc.
On the flipside, the wifey much prefers her little white light plastic box to my metal squonkers. So there you have it...its better and worse.:-) horses for courses. At the £15 for this (a box and a half of cigarettes or so) I'd still say its a cracking device (however I dont mind fiddling one bit..in fact I rather enjoy it)

How do you use an Orchid V3 as a bottom feeder VapingBad . And my Zenith V2.5 shipping date is being continuously put back, latest is the 8th, so might be a good idea to split your order if you haven't already.

jeffc & vern posted how to for a V2 on page 1, IIRC take the pin out, grind a grove inline with one side of the screw slot and make an opening in the centre post.

Not got good flavour yet so I decided to go medieval on it and have a go at clapton coils (0.15 over 0.25) 6 wraps parallel resistance 0.9 ohm, harsh and flavourless. Even though I gave this a good clean I suspect something has contaminated the liquid, but I will wait on a better atty before deciding if squonking has a future in the Bas house.

Am I the only one who's quite chuffed wiv me owl squonker?
Mine came in matt finish and it has a nice rubbery feel to it, the logo just wipes off
I ran some copper tape inside and installed a kick2 and an AW Imr 18490 and it just works.
Haven't needed to rewire nor re-spring, with the kick i'm not going above 9w and with a clone chalice 111 on top it's not missed a beat.

Yes, it looks cheap and feels cheap but it's as light as a feather and pocket friendly. It's one that I won't mind getting knocked about

I've not even bothered coiling that sad excuse for a squonking attie that was supplied with it mind you, I took one look and realised it wasn't going to perform and haven't touched it since.
