To be honest dont know what to think of it I got trhis e-mail while at Lilac's home dont know whether it has any fact to it or a kinds Chinese whispers fact to it
Just read this on LF forum:The MHRA want to regulate nicotine containing products including ecigs (but this will probably be eliquid only inc prefilled carts etc).
They did a public consultation which finished in June and they were overwhelmed but the number of responses. So the deadline now is probably september.
If they are sucessful then no unlicenced eliquid(etc) can be sold in the UK.
As far as I'm aware there are no suppliers of licenced eliquid.
All the regular ecig suppliers are concidering selling from abroad. I think Liberty flights will move to europe, so the only difference will be a bit more postage cost. I bloody hope you will find a way round this mate. I aint losing you or your juice. :-)

James, sorry hun but that is really old news. There is tons of info on here & every other forum about the MHRA consultation.
Some of the posts about it on this board alone can be found by searching on the forum for "MHRA" - make sure you change the results to something like 100 & the time span to over 200 days.

Not telling you off at all James But as a business you do need to keep up to date on what is happening. For instance, apart from what the MHRA are proposing you also have to consider Trading Standards rules concerning safety issues. ie - childproof bottles & correct labelling. Otherwise, they alone could put a stop to you selling

Have you had sign-off from your local Trading Standards, Jim on your bottling and labelling at least? Some of the smaller UK suppliers are still not paying enough attention to the laws and regulations already in place and I am afraid this plays directly into the hands of those that want to force more regulation onto us. I was stunned to find out that there are still some UK vendors supplying juice with standard Dekang labels, making absolutely no attempt to put the required warning phrases, symbols and tactile labelling. This is totally unnacceptable. Have you considered joining ECITA? They can help with Trading Standards liaison, making sure you are doing what you need to do with regard to labelling and bottling as well as liquid batch testing and much more. Being a member also means you are kept properly up to date with developments, real ones, not rumour. www.ecita.org.uk/

James, Lisa is right. Anyone not conforming to the laws & regulations already in hand is just giving ammunition to the authorities that want to ban/enforce rfurther regulations.

The CHIP regulations are VERY strict on the actual warning phrases required as well as the warning logo and its size and the placement of the tactile label. It's good to provide a printed card too, but the content on the bottles is mandatory. This is why I don't supply anything smaller than 30ml - I haven't managed to get the required elements to fit and be legible on smaller bottles although I think I might be getting near to it on a 10ml bottle. Definitely a total no-go on a 5ml bottle, unless it's placed inside a much larger bottle when it's supplied. These are the regulations: www.opsi.gov.uk/si/si2009/uksi_20090716_en_1

I'm trying to remember what the small container I bought was, which had a fold-out (concertina) label on it, so that lots of info could be printed on it.
Hmmm, it might well have been medicine ???
